Time to Kick Penn St out of the league....

The U may not have turned a blind eye but they did enable Pierre Pierce to strike again.

Sadly that is true....totally forgot about that and I honestly believe all parties (except PP) wanted to do the right thing, but sadly it blew up in their faces.

But again….this is BIGGER than PSU and their complicity, why will people refuse to see this. WE ALL have a responsibility in these kinds of instances. I honestly think people feel better about themselves by blaming “the big corporationâ€￾ where were the Joes and Susan’s who could have should have stepped in.

If it happened in Joe and Susan's shower, then it'd be as big a deal. If Joe and Susan knew about it and covered it up to protect their own image, then it'd be as big a deal.

Point them out. Who are they? I'll hate on them, too, if they saw Sandusky showering with boys and/or were reported to about it. What did they see?

You've surely read the same things I have.....it seems this was brought up at the high school level and at the charity level and in some circles since the mid 90’s to early 2000’s if all the crap I’ve seen over the last year are true….I sense your trivializing what I’m saying, but that doesn’t change what has been reported and how many people truly have to turn a blind eye for this kind of thing to happen at this level……for every one PSU “guy†that knew, how many others would have likely known too…….lots, right?!?! This is big, bad, nasty deal……..

Not for my kids it wouldn't.......if you knew or heard something about my kids being abused, I'd hold you accountable too.

There is zero similarities between some of the issues Iowa has had over the years versus the Sandusky/Penn State scandal. Sandusky was sodomizing little boys and Penn State allowed it to happen. How is this in any way shape or form similar to someone getting raped at Iowa? Are you suggesting for a minute that people at Iowa has covered up for someone like a rapist and looked the other way when it happened? You mean we give these kind of people access to our facilities and allow this kind of behavior to happen on campus? Please give me an example of where the University has ever turned the other way when someone committed a sick crime such as this one.

The U may not have turned a blind eye but they did enable Pierre Pierce to strike again.

There was also much fervent sweeping under the rug in the early stages of Everson/Satterfield case.

Zero similarities, PP did not sodomize little boys nor was his incident ever covered up. Did they make a mistake giving him a second chance, absolutely, but this incident is now where close to what was going on at Penn State.

I don’t want to get caught up in this like I’m the one who said it, because I did NOT…..But don’t forget there were Iowa fans and ISU fans alike (some ISU fans still do) who claimed KF moving kids into the empty dorm room was a clear instance of cover up. Now that was a very illogical argument, but one some fans still harbor…..

what???? Tell me more about KF moving kids into an empty dorm room. Was he or a member of his coaching staff sodomizing them?

Tracking’ with me now aren’t you Dwayne…….its easy to be mad at PSU isn’t it? The other people, well their just like us. They don’t want to get involved, but my point remains, if you or Hank or Mary or anyone knows something, hears something, “feels†something whatever….and it involves my kids, I’m pi%@$ed at you too and I’ll want answers!!!

No he sodomized a young women against her will. You're right tho - its totally different.

This is a perfect example of how we process things……all we have to be is just a little bit less evil than the next guy. It’s all relative, and for the record I defended “usâ€￾ from the stone throwers back then as well…..

This is a sick, salacious, heinous story, but I doubt the women abused in the other instances take much solace in the fact that we aren’t like Penn State do you?! Or that their not little boys?!

PP = sex offender
Sandusky = probable sex offender now on trial.

This infuriates me, how the hell can you call yourself a Iowa Hawkeye fan if you feel that U of I is responsible for that woman being raped, covered it up, or in any way similar to what happened at Penn State? You mean to tell me that we got people getting raped in our locker rooms, coaches witnessing it, and Mason/AD/KF is not contacting the proper authorities? Where is the Grand Jury report? How many victims have come forward so far?

What PP did was horrible, no question about it, and he is paying for what he has done. But unless you can answer my questions in the previous paragraph in NO WAY is the situation with PP similar to what happened between Sandusky and the Penn State University.

It is similar. Not by very much at all, but a little bit similar. I do get ssckelly's point however, and would agree with his concern about how others see this as more similar than it actually is.

I personally know instances of Iowa football covering up lesser crimes. not to the extent of sexual abuse, but covering up and dealing with it in house, there were punishments, and practice player were released, keeping, but punishing bigger roles players. but at least there was punishment. this does not equate with psu at all, but I'm just saying every football program covers up and usually has their own form of punishment. psu covered up something more serious and the only reasonable punishment for that crime goes thru the police.

Comission or omission?

We'll probably never know.

Conspiracy, or random acts of omission / comission of separate instances? We'll probably never know this either.

It happens at every university to one degree or another.

Well Golfer I have really started to get behind what you say. I have no clue how you feel about me and that's fine. But with that said you are plenty aware enuff to know I typically defend our fine establishment and lean towards being fair and open minded when criticizing those not present to defend themselves. It is in under that umbrella that I say…clearly I’m not trying to pull us down, nor do I think the others who made these comments are either.

They are trying to get people to think and be careful about burning down other people’s houses. It’s what I always do in such instances and it applies here as well. Be careful what you do or say…..its a fickle world and I’ve been on the opposite end trying to defend the U of I against those who would tear her down, as have you!

Look dude calm down, you're escalating this way beyond what it is. No one is saying children are being raped in showers at the football facility. If you go back and read my posts you will see that I was making a point about human nature and the propensity for some of us to look the other way when we see something we don't want to see and I held the U of I football program up as an example. There are problems within the culture of our football program - drugs, theft, rape. Its a problem and we shouldn't pretend like it isn't there we should point and yell at it, drag it out into the light of day.

Very well put. I know it is easy to attack another university, it is easy to point out the speck in someone's eye, though you yourself have a stump growing out your own eye. (not anyone in particular) We have our cover ups, as do other universities. Sad thing is, most probably do get swept under the rug at other instituitions, it is just bad luck for PSU that someone decided to speak and create a domino effect. But. it is good because it stops the corruption in the institution. Kinda like Shawshank redemption.

What I know of is Omission. One of the players left the team anyway. I won't say what I know because I don't wanna be kicked off or spread any rumors or tarnish anyone's image.
