Tim Brando says Iowa needs two

I don't pay attention to the so-called "bubble" or what the experts think. If the Hawks make the NCAA that would be great....at least they are assured of the NIT, which any Hawk fan would have gladly taken over the past several years.

However, in my opinion if the Hawks win 2 in the BTT, I don't see any rational explanation as to how they would not make the NCAA....22 wins, 9-9 and 6th place in the best BB conference...several wins over other NCAA tournament teams....I don't care how bad the non-conference schedule was...that should be more than enough to get a bid.

I had the advantage of watching them play....and they did win their conference soundly. Read the rest. Take that one out and the resumes are still pretty strong in comparisons.

There is no one to blame here but Fran as this is the schedule he wanted. In my opinion (what ever its worth), the Nebby game is the game that makes us HAVE to be MSU even with the low resume. Any benefit of the doubt went out the door when a team was fighting for it's post season life and failed. Everyone knows Nebby is a very bad team with a few good players, but a horrible inside game. A good perimeter should never beat you under those conditions of a horrible inside game. Fran made awful decisions and is now maybe paying for it. The 2nd game he made the adjustments when the come back started.

You make it sound like the opposing team is incapable of making shots as long as we guard them. Sometimes teams catch fire and there is nothing you can do about it. I think what happened in the Nebraska game was somewhere in between lights out shooting and horrible defense.

Chasing down one playing is not that hard when their inside game is crap. It had to do with who he had in. When a player is hot like that you can break things up by switching D. Putting a physical player on them. Sending them to the line. Taking away landing space. Those are things Iowa didn't do that game. There are always things you can do about it. It is why Nebby is near the bottom.

Hitting a few shots late...ok. losing when that far up.... against a very bad bad team.....very very rare. They are bad for a reason. ZERO inside game.

The main reason they are bad is they have no bench.

Look at the weight of Nebby's inside game. You have one guy who....well it's obvious. The others are just the opposite. I need to proof more. I do have dyslexia.
