Ticket Pricing

I never intended to buy season tickets this year so I can't answer this question but I'm curious on feed back from any posters that may have been on the fence in regards to renewing their tickets.

Will the $70 in concessions and 30% off at Herky's Locker room have any influence in your decision?

I am still on the fence, and this has no impact on my decision. I am not sure how they will implement the $70 off concessions, but I imagine the execution will be difficult and could possibly lead to even more fan frustration. Maybe the raise concession stand prices and merchandise prices to make up for it. Who knows.

$70 isn't going to buy me off. Put a winning product on the field and I'd be willing to donate hundreds of dollars, fly to bowl games, and spend tons more money tailgating, etc. In other words just freaking win, and have winning be your only concern and you will never have to discount anything.

I'm with you, but since the product has sucked lately this is a smart marketing move.

Three words I never thought I'd associate with Iowa's AD...

The day Gary Barta is FIRED, I'll buy season tickets again. I won't even consider it until that happens.

I emailed the ticket office, and they responded that its 70 total for your entire order.

this is a joke. This offer makes it worse. I'm out. Not getting my golden hawk or 8 season tickets anymore after 13 years. Great job Gary.

This changes nothing for me, after 20+ years of season tickets (4). I actually think it's insulting that Barta admits the product has been lacking, but no changes were made in the off season to justify the lackluster product on the field. LOL at a concession voucher....

Yip, it is basically saying we are giving you a crap product and we know it, but here is $70 worth of concession to sit through our crap product.

Sometimes I wonder if these freaking idiots think this through. If they really think that people who are paying thousands of dollars between donations, tickets, and tailgating are gonna renew because of $70 worth of concessions. The more I think about this, the more it is just the same sheer ineptitude that Gary Barta, and this Athletics Department calling card anymore.

How much do they pay the guy who sits around and thinks this crap up? its like Sienfiled lets have a press confrence about a press confrence......wait I know, lets have a coaching change ...so we can say we changed coaches .......nooooo now I really got it.....lets give only the rich season ticket holders 2.50 off a beer and a hot dog......who cares about the 4 thousand less students than last year that wont buy them .....

Only 65% of Iowa season ticket holders polled, will renew next year. I just heard that figure on ESPN radio/ afternoon players club. If that holds true (which I doubt it will be that bad), that would be about 15 to 20 million in lost revenue! That will help speed up the process of getting Barta/ Ferentz out of here! Its sad that it has to come to that.

I have seen a lot of bad football at Kinnick by Iowa but most of the time they were outclassed and the coaching wasnt there. We have a coach who has won big time, we have talent , yet the bad losses keep piling up and the barely winning is right there also.

I was so pumped when the hawks beat Michigan and Nebby to end the 2013 season. I really thought 1014 was a 9 win season but 7 wins was bad the way they did it, and the losses were bad.

Not renewing because the product is stale and mediocre, hate to say it. You know Bob Cummings never had a winning record but he had an offense, he had tough teams, Ray Nagle wasnt too bad either if the black player boycott hadnt got them. this year was underwhelming.

I could certainly be wrong, however: I don't think the $70 concession and 30% discount were intended to encourage (bribe) people to renew their season tickets, or to add new season ticket holders. I thought their stated purpose was in response to the survey results that indicated the U. should do something to show some love for current season ticket holders. With all due respect, we should not mix up our unhappiness with Iowa football and Iowa's attempt to respond to concerns clearly shown on a survey. Would we want to ignore the survey results? Would we then see criticism because Iowa did not respond in some way?

Changing the coaching staff, the athletic administration and the University president are much larger issues than the concession stand gift...they are unrelated.

BTW, Dean...I typically enjoy your posts and respect your opinions.

Hold on folks. Before HAWKINNM gets you all excited about Barta's big offer, you need to know that a family of four (4) would only have $2.18 a piece per game to live it up with....just wanted you to know it was not actually $2.50 before you ran to get the checkbook.

-----A family of four could share one whole hot dog per game.

KF doesn't allow hotdogs....anywhere in the stadium.
