This Years Ferentz?

Anybody else notice he seems a bit more comfortable this year than in recent past years? He seems a little more at ease when interviewed. He doesn't seem to have the "sense of urgency" that you would expect, especially when it's a must year for a successful team. This is good, IMO. He might know that he has a good team or at least better than what pundits out here expect. This is going to be a fun season & I think they surprise. He just seems calmer. That's all!

He looks less stressed and hopefully that is a sign that he is letting his staff work. Hopefully letting the staff coach and make changes is working and putting KF at ease.

Lets see how he looks two months from now. I hope he looks confident.

I agree with murp, let's wait and see how comfortable he is 2 months from now. Show me a coach or any human being that had his contract that would be uncomfortable?

It's probably the fact that he knows if a season like last years didn't get him canned nothing will.

Another explanation is that he knows he has unlimited job security, even if he goes 4-8 again. The university literally can't afford to fire him. If I was in a similar situation, I would sleep until noon every day and schedule video game breaks for every hour on the hour.

I agree with bubble-gum machine head. KF seems to be opening the door to fort Kinnick, a bit, so that he doesn't come across as being isolated. And, I hope that is, in part, because the new assistants are seeming to do well and he is trusts them and can be hands off. I think he does listen to criticism from "someone." Remember a few years back when we all b*tched that he never went for it on 4th down? Well, Iowa probably does that as much as anyone in the BIG, now. KF just needs to trust his coaches.

Does that mean that they're better or that people can't hold him accountable yet for another bad season?

We're gonna have a fun season because Kirk is relaxed during interviews? (how are you qualifying that? . . . and name the medications you're on?)

Do you know who was the 3rd highest payed State of Iowa Employee this last year? Todd Licklighter!! I hear ya.

Geez, way to read between the lines & come up with your own story, Simpleton!! You missed the whole point. But, whatever. Doi!!

I hope he has an awesome year and we are talking major bowl when it all said and done. Another four win season this year and anything less than seven wins next season then he is DONE contract or no contract. Now having said that remember I am one of the few that is predicting nine wins when counting the bowl game. I truly wish him, the coaches, the players, and his family the best of luck this year, and many happy Saturdays for all of us. GO HAWKS GO!!!

not sure of OOTH was trolling or not, but i kind of agree with his line of thinking. maybe KF has taken a less hands-on approach with things and its allowed him to relax a little bit. i hope he's letting GD do what he wants with the offense and he just hangs back and watches more

I'm convinced Lick was hired just to give Iowa fans an appreciation for a good college program. The only thing we didn't understand at the time was that he was hired to show us what a bad program looked like. Don't you think we now have a greater appreciation for Fran because of Lick. It was all a master plan.

Same can be said of our football season last year. Some on this board are right...KF played his inferior talent, made poor decisions on purpose, and tried to lose games last year...only to give us a great appreciation for winning this year.

Please...Please...no one agree with me. Please.
