This time of year

As I have said I'm far more into recruits than ever before, but I'm ready to start hearing tid bits about how the summer is going.

I don't get stressed about it either. It really doesn't stress me out ever. It's just more fun when there are things to talk about. You can tell by the board everyone is a little bored and waiting to hear something.
Only thing I have heard of recently was Phil saying he wasn't opposed to giving some freshmen lb's some pt. Which I assume will be under the new 4 game limit, but sounds rather promising that he might like what he is seeing from them. Or..... It could mean we suck at the position and have to play freshman. I'm hoping for the first option.
But those little tid bits peak my interest.
No news at all is boring.

Several years ago the NBA season started on Christmas night because of the latest lockout. They should make that opening night on a permanent basis. It wouldn't compete against the NFL as much. You could start the playoffs Memorial Day weekend, cover this down time we now have, and finish the postseason just before NFL training camps start. And it's training camps wouldn't have to start until the World Series is over.

Those of us who live near Lake Michigan have NO spring, June is an up/down temp month. I actually had to briefly turn on my furnace to take the chill out in early June. Today its 86. So, I love the warm summer temps here and they are far too short. However, the fact that as summer winds down, my beloved Hawkeyes begin to play football. Following is basketball, though last year it gave me little pleasure. But, there is always next year...

Summer isn’t my gig. Too hot, fishing is slower, no Hawkeye sports, and by the middle of July I’m starting to get a little burned out coaching add driving to games.

Winter I love to ice fish and watch FB/BB, spring time weather is great and a relief from snow and ice, and fall is just great all around. Working outside in a hoody and the beginning of football season just has a certain feeling to it that I enjoy.

Actually, though beautiful outcome it was the 2nd big warning of things to come on game management. That aspect was painfully ugly.
Yeah it was kind of ugly in that regard. Thing is even if they should not of restarted the clock, once it was over, no way were they going to say whoops, and make it right. So that is what makes it even so much greater.

I spend most of the summer (self employed) in sports shorts, a t shirt and no shoes (except sandals when I go out). Bike 10 to 12 miles a day and swim. Have a non chem beautiful yard I mow every 2 weeks. My boys are gone so no more sports coaching. Some marching band stuff with my youngest (225 member HS marching band) and take walks with the wife.

Sounds like you are not only living the good life, but also you appreciate what you have. Good for you.

Would you rather look at big fat Iowa lineman or these summer time hotties??!?!
