This Program Smells

If the Hawks go 12-6 over the next 18 games KF will essentially have the same record as Hayden Fry...same wins..fry with 6 less losses but 6 kiss your sister ties. And we all know Hayden sucked as a coach. Right? So.......

Vaginas smell too, but that doesn't keep us from loving them.
Misunderstanding on my PART.7-5 DIRECTED AT "REGENTS OR PEOPLE WHO SAY ITS OK" NOT EVER PLAYERS OR FANS!! HAWK PLAYERS NEVER ARE OK WITH 7-5 HAWKS ARE TOUGH! AND AGAIN SHOW IT SAT.PEOPLE IN CHARGE BY THEIR DECISIONS THINK "its ok" HAWKS VERY TOUGH! WILL SHOW IT.

Maybe your moms could start a play group.

It is like some are pissed off that Iowa won.

Like rewarding your dog for dumping on the front porch as you are elated he didn't dump in tge kitchen. That was brutal. If i was C J s dad I'd pull him off the team for his safety. Not sure how anyone can watch the brutality and be thrilled with a win. K F loses a lot of respect.

Receivers getting separation tends to help a little too

the WR's aren't helping the OL, that is true. The OL is getting beat, at times, but other times, CJ is getting sacked cuz WR's aren't getting open. I don't know why CJ isn't taking off sooner. I think that's a legit criticism of CJ this season; not taking off when the WR's don't get open.

I have this feeling the risk-aversion coaches told him not to run as much as last year. Helping to explain why Tate/Stanzi/Vandy/Rudock/CJB go thru a win-regression in their final year.

The comparison to Fry goes a lot deeper than just record. I really do not know what to say; so their record is relatively the same, we are not suppose to second guess anything?

The offense was brutal at times, especially inside the 30. That said, when you are struggling as a team, you enjoy the victory.

Being happy about a win is not proclaiming the team doesn't have plenty of issues, it's just being happy about a win....Unless of course, you'd rather lose.

The combination of all 3 things (wr not getting open, oline protection, and CJ holding a bit long). It's a vicous cycle.

There isn't an quick fix to all three, but a good OC could call more plays and schemes to help get the ball out quicker and buy the qb more time...

As stated, that a team of a long term coach gets to this point where a qb is not reasonably safe (OK, it's not a safe game) is quite sad.

Again, the 2 times the QB was not reasonably safe yesterday was because of 2 decisions made by the QB. CJ did not need to take either of those hits, he had the first down before the slide (which could have very easily been a penalty as well). The second hit (flip), while I love the effort/guts, was ill advised.

The coach made changes on the oline to help protect the qb, that at least seemed to help.

I've never heard Dolph talk about a qb taking hits like h has this year.and I agree that some is on CJ. He also gets hit a lot on throws. No time.

We absolutely need to continue to improve on pass protection.

I will say this though, I do think a few hits gets CJ going (not huge hits though). He does seem to report well when he initiates some contact, similar to RB mentality. It's the blindside hits and bad thumps that concern me.

350k/yr for Fry's output. After incentives about half what the dumbbell in charge of dumbbells makes. And what did Fry give us? Ranked teams 50% of the time. KF? Ranked teams 33% of the time. Over ten times as much money for less prestige. Yay for an establishment which delivers less and calls it more.

How about spreading the ball over the entire field, instead of just the side hash marks.

Fry's best finish was #10 in the country and he did that once. KF has finished top 10 5 different times. So you could say that Fry finished top 10 5% of the time and KF has done so 30% of the time. Stats are a funny thing, you can usually frame the argument to make it look however you like. So KF has given us 25% more top 10 teams than Hayden did. Hayden finished with 6 or less wins (8 times). KF has had 6 or less wins in only 5 years. I personally am not trying to say one is better than the other, just showing anyone can throw out stats to paint an unfair picture.

Fry won 60% of this games compared to KF 59%. If you take away the first two rebuilding years for both coaches Fry won 63% of his games from year 3-20. KF has won 64% of his games from year 3-present. They are nearly identical, and anyone who tries to tell you any different is just using selective stats, and not looking at an entire picture.

When I posted that I set my stopwatch and told myself: "It's a race between deano and icke to see who can quote me first.":p

Fair enough. I hope you don't think I was ripping you cause that wasn't my intent. I have just looked at the numbers between the two so much that you can really frame it a couple ways. It is actually remarkable how similar they have been.

After the '91 10 win season Fry was 43-38 over his last 7 years. Can you imagine the backlash Fry would have had if he lived in a social media age toward the end of his career? You would have been ripping him every bit as much as you rip KF now. KF in his last 7 years is 50-34 (not counting his good '09 year, but counting '10-present day).
