This Program Smells

It is like some are pissed off that Iowa won.

It's weird. There were improvements in a number of phases as well. Yes, the offense was rough to watch, but when you're clearly not a great squad and you win a road game at a venue that has not been easy, in a hostile environment, and you can't at least enjoy a win...well...

Criticism is warranted and the year has been dissappointing. I'm simply happy with the win and seeing a little improvement.

Welcome home Floyd.

Those complaining about the win are the same people who claimed we couldn't win.

7-5, mid to lower tier bowl.....we will see how Barta tries to sell it at the end of the year.

Purdue's AD said their goal is to win championships in football. As crazy as that sounds at least their AD sets that as a goal. Meanwhile in Iowa City, Gary Barta rewards 7-5 records. Time for Barta to be let go. Do NOT want him deciding another coaching hire or contract extension.

I've lowered my expectations this is a 8-4/7-5 football team.

After NDSU and Rutgers i lowered my expectations to 8 wins, after last week I had lowered my expectations from 8 wins to 5. I'm raising them to 6, maybe 7 after today...

Unfortunately, anything below 9 will be dissappointing given my preseason expectations.

Well, as long as Purdue's AD says its their goal. My goal is to win the lottery, we both are on pace.

This speaks volumes...

Two points to be fair here:

1.This is the most limited WR group Iowa has had since 1999 when they lined up Bashir Yamini (sp?) and Chris Oliver outside. Even average WRs would butcher that Gopher secondary that is lost and untalented. But there just isn't much open downfield. Too see it in person was breath taking.

2. Minnesota CBs were playing far off Iowa's WR. Gopher fans were livid all day with it. And Iowa actually adjusted and started throwing those quick sideline hitters that actually gained some yards. Poor coaching to play Iowa that soft.

Iowa needs to start used double TE sets with Kittle and Fant and send them on intermediate and longer routes. They look more athletic than Iowa's WR.

And defensively need Rugamba like a hybrid linebacker and sit bowl. That D would be nasty and fast

Christian McCaffrey 83 all purpose yards.....no Heisman for you little bitch.....hahahaha!!!

No, that doesn't make our situation any better....I'm not thinking that for one minute....we are still in deep S for a long time to come with our current talent.

Expectations change emotion. I was pissed with the last few weeks but with lowered expectations any win is a positive. I expect Iowa to beat Purdue and Illinois and hopefully penn st. I hope they are at least competitive with Nebraska and Wisconsin. And Michigan, well, I might make other plans.
