This just in.....Nebraska is HORRIBLE...Frost Bite Program

There leading RB in carries just left the program. He started the first 3 games and last game got over shadowed by Ozigbo in 1 game and he bolts less than a week later. The program is an absolute dumpster fire. Sometimes firing every coach doesn't solve things.
I'm sure there will be more...

Who are you people? We're in a thread about our hated rival to the West who can't seem to win a game and we're hijacking the thread by arguing over past Iowa Coaches??? Take it to another room fellas in this thread we unite and bash all things Frost and Lil Debbie.
Don't worry. We don't need this thread exclusively to bash Nebraska and Frost. We've been doing it pretty much everywhere else.

First off you shouldn't ever say fail in a post again. You posted that Tim Duncan, as a high school SR, somehow led WF to a victory over Iowa in the NCAA tournament.

Second I never said that Iowa’s program was better since Davis left it. It’s been much worse.

You put the blame on the state of Iowa's program on Davis being let go. What I said was that I put the blame on an administration that didn’t put money into the program. They made things worse by hiring a guy who is a prick and horrible fit for the community and then trumped that by hiring a guy who should be coaching high school basketball. But its my belief that it wouldn't have mattered who the coach was, the program was heading for a cliff.

I believed it then and still believe it now that the risk Bowlsby took hiring Alford was the right move at the time. He knew Davis had topped out at Iowa and he wanted more. It backfired. But keep in mind, Alford, asshole and all, is still coaching and is at a blue blood school. Davis only coached a dead end program since Iowa let him go.
Ill state it again and you can be in denial as much as you like. You can draw imaginary unicorns to pet as you smoke more cheeba under that rainbow of yours. There is no denying what has happened to the Iowa basketball program since Tom Davis was forced out. Its fact. 6 NCAA tournament appearances, and one was a play-in loss, in the past 19 seasons. The analogy was and still is to the possible road of the football program if we assume ANYONE can come in here and win or A SOMEONE would want to. It wont be a Matt Campbell. Then you are just taking fliers on people who might have been good at a mid-major or 1-AA. If you fail to see the possibility that, like Iowa basketball, Iowa football is not a destination job for the best coaches in America, then your suffering has no cure. Its a great environment, school and state, but THAT coach is looking for geographically enhanced recruiting soil. Be content with what you have. When the time is chosen by KF, then you can pray your prodigy is out there.

We’re not about appearances. We’re about Final Fours. Stop settling for mediocrity.
Hi, im earth, have we met? WHO is about final four appearances? You are? Why? Why do you assume? Our best in-state talent goes elsewhere. We dont get 5* players and we dont coach up our basketball players like the football program does. At the end of your life, will you be a failure if Iowa isnt in a final four? Did you and your sword attack one too many windmills? Did you look like a complete moron? Im betting yes. I hope its a long miserable journey. Some of us will actually try to enjoy the recreational activity that is called sport.

No. I wouldn't kill for a rerun of the Tom Davis years - post Raveling recruits. YOU WOULD. Because you love mediocrity. Just because Gutless Gary and Boob Bowelsby can't hire a basketball coach...doesn't mean Tom Davis was John Wooden Jr.
Point to the time i said he was a GREAT coach. Then, point to the time where i said its sure as heck a lot better than the last 20 yrs. Im sick of the last 20 yrs. Talk about rarely being relevant. But then ask me if id trade the last 20 yrs for the 14 before it and the easy answer is yes. If it isnt for you, then you settle for failure not mediocrity.

Dude can't even spell the word correctly. Where does that put him on the intelligence scale?

Mr. Davis had 1 Sweet 16 with his own recruits. 1 out of 10 years. If you don't want to acknowledge the obvious difference in his record with Raveling's recruits vs without....then that's your choice.

Raveling had zero Sweet Sixteens. Alford had zero. Lickliter had zero. Fran McCaffery has zero.

I don't care whore recruits they had, only ONE had ANY Sweet Sixteen appearances. The one we bagged, who then took us to another Sweet Sixteen.

Don't forget, and I know you haven't, Ralph Miller and Lute Olson. Of course Miller, and Bucky O'Connor and Murry Weir for that matter, would technically reach the Sweet sixteen just by qualifying for the tournament, because only sixteen teams went in those days.

Lute's Sky King lead team in 1977 would easily qualify for the NCAA's with the modern 68 team field but couldn't even qualify for the NIT back then.

What’s funny is even Bethune Cookman fans are over talking crap on the Nebraska board. They think it’s going to be a close game which really irks Nebraska fans.
