I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you and 9year would have a big fit if the roles were reversed and someone was talking trash about you publically. Its easy to hide behind an anonymous screen name. I know it would be very hard for me at my age to let that go, but def not when I was 18.
 
Don't know about Taylor, but from what I've heard, Fleming (tweets and trying to lure other players to Iowa) seems to be a leader.
 
Holy crap...just made my first (and last) visit to "HaLo". This board looks like Mayberry, USA compared to that site.

Exactly, I guess maybe because I wasn't raised believing my **** does stink I have thicker skin then todays youth.
 
I don't really want a crybaby (not that this case neccessarily can be defined that way) on my team anyway - any over sensitive types end up transferring out anyway.

Yeah it's bad form to bash players, but I have a hard time believing good players really care.

Getting on the case of an 18 year old kid, who I'm sure none of us have ever met, is NOT right. He needs a thicker skin, but that doesn't excuse the folks like us, either.

I've bad-mouthed 18 year olds before. But only when I know them personally, and I make no secret out of how I feel about them. I'll tell them what I think of them. I don't hide behind a screen name on a message board to badmouth a kid I've never even met before.

im really not seeing where anyone badmouthed him. only that KF wont put up with such activity, and neither with the NCAA compliance folks.

Here's a word of advice, don't follow athletes on the twitter. It's a little depressing how dumb most of them really are.

Different and dumb are two different things. A lot of what they say is generational and regional. It doesn't necessarily make them dumb.

NCAA student athlete have something like a 30-40 percent higher graduation rate than non-scholarship students. The graduation rate for Iowa football players is around 75%. The graduation rate for incoming freshmen is around 50%. They are not as dumb as you think.
