This is why ferentz is toast and will never take Iowa to a bowl again.

So you're mad he ain't mad? Trust me, he hates losing as much as you.

Don't think I said that, so don't put words in my mouth. I just said that my answer would've been different than KF's "I'm comfortable" answer.

I don't think he likes losing or doesn't care. So I'm not "mad" about that answer. I would say more disturbed by it.

To think that he'd answer that question any other way than the way he did proves you're not living in reality. If you seriously think this coach, not to say any other coach, is going to discuss staffing issues in a post-game press conference, you're either blinded by hate, or too stupid to understand how the world works. Probably a good portion of both.

Your not living in reality if you think that's the answer he would have given in the last year of a contract? There are many better ways to answer that question than what he did? He just chose to be arrogant once again.

Know how I know you didn't read the whole quote?

Freed...
I have no idea how you've kept this thread going so long. It's quite obvious that the quote you're pointing to was hacked up, BY YOU! You call the coach out for saying what he did, but leave out the part where he says he's going to break down the problems with the program (and he specifically stated it starts with him-on down to the bottom).
I just want to make sure you read the rest of his comment in that particular question. You did continue to read the quote didn't you? Maybe go back and take another look... Billso was nice enough to put it all in there for you.

I read the whole quote as I read the whole presser. If you can be ok with a coach saying that he's comfortable with anything after this kinda season, ok. I am not and never will be.

Nah, no need to. A few of you guys on here are ok with ferentz saying he's comfortable with everything after this kinda season. I guess I never cease to be amazed. Geez.

How is disagreeing with your rambling paranoia an indicator that anyone here supports what Kurt is doing? What the hell happened that made you think what you have to say is so damn important that you're the voice of everyone displeased with the direction of the football program?

Memo to you bold font, you don't get to draw the line in the sand. It is not "Agree with freederpcomanche or else". Only I get to do that, and even then, I take the responsibility very srsly, unlike you.

Doesn't matter if anyone agrees or disagrees with me. Go back and look at any of my posts and you will not see any paranoia.

It shouldn't matter what I say about Iowa Football. It should very much matter what the head coach says.

Ok.

Just because you aren't paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Agreed. Which is why you should take the trouble to quote the head coach in full, instead of selectively.

I shouldn't have to in that case because saying he's comfortable is not acceptable in any context after this season.

Caring about coachspeak in press conferences is like caring about Grover Cleveland's favorite sock color.

In both cases, even your mother will eventually ask you to STFU.

Damn Billso. Did you have an extra helping of AWESOME for Thanksgiving?

Agree that Kurt just does not get it. Neither does our media.

There are always 2 or 3 "did he just say that" moments in pressers. He never gets called out for answers like this by our equally inept media. Our reporters rarely ask the questions people want asked...like today: was there one question on time management late in the first half. Coming out of a TO with 12 men. Or what about punting on their 31 yard line resulting in a touchback for a net gain of 11 yards.

I guess the media think our primary concern is how KF feels about being a father.

Yeah, you mention some pretty bad decisions and mistakes here. Punting it was bad, calling the timeout after letting time tick away, it's hard to back him with these things happening so frequently

I honestly have no problem with what he said in the entirity of the comment. Why babble up there like an idiot about what needs to be done without taking some time to clear his head and actually assess what went wrong and what needs to be fixed and then putting a plan in place to get from where they are now to where they need to be.

When the season went as poorly as this one did, theres no simple solution. I see nothing wrong with the approach he took and actually going layer by layer to assess the situation and then looking for solutions. IMO if he already knew what the problem was and had an answer at the time that the question was asked, any answer or solutions from that point on would only be surface deep and wouldn't solve a thing.

Or what is more likely (judging by his past coaching decisions) he really doesn't think he needs to change anything.
