The state of IOWA leads the nation in nominees for the McD's All-American game

What are the odds that Woodbury will make the team? The Hawks haven't had a McD AA since Kingsbury, correct?

Correct.

Recker was an AA, but he didn't originally come to Iowa.

No idea if he makes it. For sure he will make the Top 100 cut. His senior season isn't as productive as you'd like an AA campaign. Opponents are double and triple teaming him and he cant stay out of foul trouble.

From the games I have seen on the web (not that many) he seems to be a big target for refs to call fouls on him, even though other guarding him hack him a ton more than he actually fouls anybody.

While I wouldn't exactly call Iowa a basketball recruiting hotbed, the state produces an above average amount of high quality talent.

As some have stated, yes we lead in nominations but I seriously doubt we will have many make the team.

I have no idea how many true centers get picked. I have to think his odds improved when Drummond reclassfied to the 2010 class. But with guys like Baylors recruit Austin, Cameron Ridley, and Kaleb Tarcewski, it may still be an uphill battle. I can say that Iowa will lead the nation in rejections, if you call not getting selected as such, as Woodbury seems to be the only recruit with any chance(Gessel has a small chance, but is a Nebraska nominee).

I'll be really surprised if Paige doesn't make the team, especially being a North Carolina recruit, which always gets more attention. He is a great player from what I've seen.

Still intrigued as to why all these Iowa kids got nominated way out of proportion as compared to other states. Some of those guys don't have any DI interest. Like someone else mentioned, you think of elite players when you hear McDonalds All American team, not guys getting nominated who don't even make first or second team all state. Looks like other states had a lot more restraint in who they nominated.
