The SEC network (Espn) Gameday in Ivy league?? 11/22

Really ?? LOL

Wow, that thing called espn has really sunk to new lows, this year.

Scott Dochtermann has a great article in Gazette today, on sec/Espin network.

Trying to locate link..........

Yet another reason why I don't even bother turning Gameday on any more. It was fun 10 years ago but it's getting stale doing the same theatrics every week.

Actually, ESPN is the Big Ten network. It pays the Big Ten a lot more money than it pays the SEC. When the Big Ten says jump, ESPN says "How High!" ESPN even lets the BTN compete against its late Saturday afternoon games. The Big Ten is a huge profit maker for ABC/ESPN.

The SEC cannot compete with the Big Ten when it comes to TV markets. The SEC may whip the Big Ten in football, but the Big Ten blows the SEC out of the water when it comes to TV sets. Sure, Game Day may not be in Iowa City this weekend, but the Big Ten is laughing all the way to the bank.

The next TV contract after the 2016 season will probably be more than twice than any other conference.

They will choose one out-of-the-box location every year. They once went to Boston College because one of their players had cancer, I remember a HBCU campus once, or some DII schools in Ohio, its just about mixing it up.

While I'd love for them to come to Iowa City, I think it's kinda neat that they're going to Harvard-Yale. I don't think the choice was made because of an anti-B1G agenda, they just wanted to showcase a historic rivalry on a week with 0 top-25 match-ups.

I agree.

I agree. I get riled up kinda easy but I don't understand why people would be ****** about this. I think it's a neat idea to actually do it from an Ivy League venue.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they have been to Fargo to visit NDSU this year and last year. Are you claiming that Fargo is not an out of the box location? I mean, yeah, so NDSU can beat ISU. So what? Ferentz has managed to beat them a few times, too. Do we get no credit for that? I'm calling it now.

BOYCOTT!

They came to Evanston last year for Northwestern-OSU. Oh, that's not Ivy League? Well, well I didn't know.

I think going with an IVY league game is pretty silly. But to say Iowa is deserving of the national spotlight just because they're facing Wisconsin is pretty bad too. If anything they'd choose the game simply to follow Melvin Gordon.
