The perfect addition for the Big Ten? TCU

Dude, are you even an Iowa fan?
Assuming you aren't let me explain something to you. There are a great deal of Iowa fans (about as many as anybody in the country) that like to attend the majority of away games. I for one have been to every Big Ten stadium in the last 4 years, which has been a wonderful experience. I have seen many of the same Hawks at each of them. Don't think for a second the players/coaches don't notice either. They do and are motivated by it.
If we allowed a team such as TCU (I mean simply geographically) into our beloved conference it would seriously damage our fanbase's ability to travel to away games.
There are many other reasons this is a dumb idea (size, tradition, future, every sport other than football, academics, etc) but geography alone makes this a dumb idea.
The Big Ten is famous for its huge stadiums (lead the country by far) and massive fan attendence. I think we need to adopt somebody with at least 60,000 fans in their stadium every game. Anything else would be, well, Dumb.

All these narrow minded thinkers. Texas Christian, located in the Dallas metro is a far superior travel destination than columbia or branson? Good grief.............

And size of stadium is a concern??? Then, kick NW out of the conference now.

Get Texas Christian in here NOW, Delany

If Stadium Size is of true interest, TCU is NOT an option. Here's the break down for both FB and Hoops. Also included for perusal is stadium size for all of the B12 North, and the three targets given by JoPa in SportsCenter. What you'll find is TCU would be dead last in both sports. Nebby and Mizzou would both be nice fits for the B10 out of the B12 North. Pitt and Syracuse would be the leaders from the Big E.

Since we are now all in agreement, Texas Christian University, with their top 5 BCS football team will be extended an invitation to the Big Ten in January.

TCU's pros: They've had a few years of decent results in football in a terrible conference.

TCU's cons: They fail to meet ANY of the current criteria to enter the B10. They fail to bring VALUE to the table. They fail to bring anything of worth other than for foolish posters who've had one too many ladels of white lightning from Granpa's treestump still to craft insane stances like the ones exhibited within this thread.

In short, TCU has as much chance of joining the B10 as Indiana has of becoming the next BCS MNC winner from the SEC (which is to say, there ain't a chance in HELL).

I thought you were kidding at first. But now that I see you are serious I am absolutely stunned.

I cannot think of a single reason to take TCU into the big 10
1)Location-NOPE
2)Academics They are non existant in the fields of research or Grad programs Good grief you cannot even get a PHD in theolgoy there.
3)Fanbase- NON EXISTANT
4) National Appeal- NON EXISTANT
5) Venue sizes- TINY
6) Variety of Athletics- GET SERIOUS

I can think of quite a few other schools who fit the mold better. Like Tulane, North Texas State, Houston, Oral Roberts...etc.

Get a grip man TCU is nowhere near a big 10 school
