The Official Iowa destroys Northwestern in BTT game thread.

Ogundele looks in better shape than I've seen him before just not sure he's got that much athleticism relating to jumping, quickness, etc. If he's playing under the basket he better be able to hit free throws. I hope he makes some big strides but I wouldn't be surprised to see him absent from the roster next season.

Fran was yelling NOOOO as he shot that ball. I doubt he will be high fiving him, he will probably explain how that looks and what to do next time they are in that situation and then say "but nice bank".
I dunno man, I bet he's happy for the kid. I don't think he played all year, I havent really missed a minute. I think Fran made a big deal about it on the court to save face but deep down was really happy for the kid.

That's what I believe at least, good luck convincing me otherwise :D

The kid needs to decide does he want to grow up, eat the right diet and get into shape cause I think he could be great. It is all up to him at this point to take the right path or wrong path. But man he is out of shape right now so whatever he is doing right now isn' the right path. That said what a fun game

I'm not even sure that's his problem, he's got a Big Ten body. But his footwork is horrible and they were scoring off him with zero problems.

But Mulvey has some nice shot blocking abilities, in the few minutes he was in the game he got 3 blocked shots. I can see him getting more minutes next year.

So, that was a complete ass-kicking. Hopefully we did not use up all of our 3s on this hapless team. But, they seem on a mission and that is great to see.

So, basically a practice scrimmage, rest the starters and its like we got the double bye after all. Only we have one more W on the resume. Just about as good as it coulda been when you have 4 games in 4 days. Now, if we only make half the 3 pointers against Rutgers, we still ought to be in good shape.

Those blocks were impressive. He has long arms and good timing. Garza and Woody were pretty good contributors as freshmen. Mulvey should be a freshman next year. If he takes a big step we could be really good next year too. If Keegan would stop being so damn selfish and come back (joking) we would be big favorites to win the Big 10 and probably top 5 pre season again.

That's really not how it works, they very well could come out tomorrow and be just as hot from 3 or not. The good news is they should have plenty of legs left for tomorrow. I bet they burn as much energy in a practice before the game than they did against Northwestern.

For sure.....I think what I was saying was in jest. ;)

All these takes on Ogundale - dudes like 30 lbs heavier then when he arrived at Iowa. His issue isn't being out of shape lol.

NW is a top 80 Kenpom team - They aren't great and they dipped with some injuries but they aren't hapless. They beat Indiana, Rutgers, Michigan State... what Iowa did today was historical

Weaklings, but nice wins. Yes, I agree, that was a historical beat down in the BTT. Hopefully they can keep plowing through to the title game.

Northwestern is 15 wins 16 losses.....I would hope Iowa would blow them out of the water.

Blowing a team out is 10-15 points. It's tough to do much better than that most days. We had a name the score type day. That said, what we did today doesn't mean shit tomorrow.

I think what he was saying is that they were pretty hapless today, and he was right. We had a once in a generation type of game, everything that could go right did go right. When we play like we did and shoot like we did, there's nobody that could beat us. Getting hot at the right time.

I get what you're saying and maybe we are over reacting a bit but I expect Iowa to beat non conference creampuffs by 36 points not a Big Ten opponent. Iowa set a lot of records today but, ok, we shake it off and move on. Rutgers is up next and I hope they knock the piss out of them.

Just got done with a day of work, hitting the gym, eating dinner. Could only catch the game on the radio.

What I can't believe I how many points we racked up with only seven made free throws. Make fifteen more free throws, subtract a couple field goals, and we may have approached 120-125 points.

I can't wait to catch up on this thread. Here we go!

Hawks dine on mildcat in a late lunch match up! If we can jump out to a big lead and rest our starters, it would be ideal-which, of course, means that its a nail biter to the end..........
We definitely got a chance to rest our starters which will give Rutgers zero advantage over us in the tired legs sweepstakes.

Iowa's offense is a machine.
I've compared it to 2018 Nevada, which would have made the elite eight if not a miracle shot from The Sister Jean's.

I loved that team, their offensive efficiency. Keegan and Kris are our version of Cody and Caleb Martin. Tony Perkins is our Lindsay Drew (who was injured late that season and missed the tournament). Peyton Sandfort, if he plays like he did today, is our Kendall Stephens.

If the Serbian Soul Train is our Jordan Caroline we are going deep in the NCAA'S.
