Why are the statistics skewed? Well, they are skewed in part because a provision of the CARES Act specifically authorizes a 20% payment bump for Medicare patients with COVID. Medicare is the largest insurer and covers far and away the majority of people with the greatest known comorbidity factor, which is advanced age. If you don't believe me, look it up, it is Section 3710. There's also something in there that gets the uninsured coverage for COVID. So the hospitals have every incentive in the world to goose the shit out of their COVID numbers.

The first, Potter says that the 20% add on from the Cares Act is only for services provided, not deaths. In actual dollar amounts, Potter says the 20% payment averages out to be around $35,000 per patient ON A Ventilator. (my emphasis).
Potter says the second reason it's not true is because of checks and balances.
If somebody knowingly alters the medical record, which would then create this bill I think is being alleged here...That would be caught through audit. And if that occurred, you would be prosecuted and there are huge penalties.
There's no pressure on the physician to say covid , we're going to get paid more if you have covid, Dr. Mead said.

The CARES act is implemented through Medicare only.

In addition to the fact check I provided, there is a mountain of information explaining how the cause of death surrounding the covid pandemic is calculated. I read through the reports rather thoroughly and would encourage you and others to do the same. You will find out that some wild theory about counting deaths from covid inappropriately is largely a myth.

As of today at the time of this post the Johns Hopkins Covid site numbers 416.4 million covid cases worldwide and 5.78 million deaths due to covid. Are you saying that there is a global conspiracy among millions of doctors, nurses, nurses aides, health depts, testing labs, and administrators of govt. that cover covid, to inflate the numbers. And if you go into the hospital with bad covid and die from covid it really doesnt matter if the person had a heart condition because the proximal cause of death is covid. If you go get a covid test prior to your knee surgery and you are covid positive and get really sick and go and die then you died of covid, not a heart problem or a knee problem.

Gee, I wonder how many people died in rural India, Brazil, mexico and other countries but they were just buried without any covid tests. The number is not important now but I bet it is a large number.

There's no doubt the numbers are inflated because how they count them. The question is how much they're inflated. My guess is probably about 20% max are people who died completely from something else. That still leaves a really big number. The big number is due to how unhealthy this country is and how little we do to treat it for political reasons. The treatment is "go home until you can't breathe". Then it's too late.

I hope you know the history of these pandemics or large, country level endemics in Asia lead to the fact that Japan and most of those countries have masks at the ready. They wear masks to a high level. There mask wearing is anecdotal evidence that masking works. Just like the counties in Kansas in 2020 showed that masking works to slow down infection. But not sure if you are aware of any of these things. Did you know that surgeons and operating room staff wear masks???

Early on in Covid, March to May in NYCity and the hard hit east, death rates were compared to the average death rates over many previous years and the 2020 death rates were much higher. A person would have only one logical inference from that data. But maybe you think a lot of those dead bodies stored in refrigerated trucks and buried were mannequins.

personal attacks on me so I can be firm in my decision to keep him on “ignore.” At least I had a nearly uncontrollable laugh at his statement that I don’t understand “propaganda” when in fact his conspiracy theory view of the virus shows his susceptibility to it in spades. I like a lot of people and dislike very few. The “few” would be liars. They are not that tough to identify.
