They should also over-sell the student section.Fact is that the students squeeze more bodies than seats into the rows, leaving the top areas relatively open even if sold out.
Oversell the student section by 2k, or sell general admission tickets for the top 5-10 rows in the south endzone in order to alleviate this problem.

Quite tastefully casual and fighting for his Lads.....
Agreed...student tickets need to be such a bargain that they need a lottery system when they sell them. Students pump enough money into the school as it is. Throw 'em a bone when it comes to sporting events.

Correct, if you wanted to be warm in this day and age of thin thinsulate layers, chemical warmers, and high tech gear it is easy to do. You can buy -30 degree socks etc which my son had on with another layer of socks and he was warm with tennis shoes.
Me, I go with two layers of socks and insulated boots because once my feet get really cold it is miserable.
My son and I were really layered up and it was comfortable. Our friends were fine.
Now if you dont wear enough layers and right kind of clothes then that is your fault.
I The cold must have kept the fans perky as it was one of the more animated games I've been to...even when the Hawks weren't doing so well in the first half.
I must have missed that. That's terrible. And those are loser fans. Some of the fans were perky booing the hawks or the coaches as they left the field at halftime.
That was a rather inglorious moment I thought.
Our tickets were split up between the north and south endzones on Saturday. We all dressed for the weather, but sitting in the south endzone, with the wind blowing right at you, it was pretty darn cold. Those sitting in the north endzone had the wind blocked from them, and they were fine. After hanging in the concourse for half time, we ventured back out to our seats......got to enjoy a nice Hawkeye victory.
i was in the south end zone too. The wind never stopped and it was the first time I was jealous of the north side with the sun in their face. The sun finally hit us midway through the 4th quarter and made a big difference.
My lips burn a little today from being out in the cold that long, but it was worth it.Congrats to all Hawk fans that toughed it out. The crowd noise came thru the tv loud and clear, and I think it really mattered to the Hawks in that second half. Cold game crowds in tight games are always animated as they want to get the blood flowing....and maybe flasked out....great game, hawk fans and players...and even coaches!
Yes, some students left at halftime. But a lot of them left town for Thanksgiving.
We were in town Friday including some campus touring with my daughter. As we sat in the lobby of Burge, there was a constant flow of kids with duffel bags of laundry being picked up by their parents. I think a lot of the students were gone already for Thanksgiving break
