The Booing

I imagine the line to re-board the Hawkeye express was longer then than at the end of the game
There were folks standing (no seat) on the first available train. We heard the interception on the radio in the train and nobody even reacted. It was apathy at its finest

Maybe the booing after a kick was directed at the coach for not finding a better kicker. Did you ever think about that?

The fans in the stands Booed and I was with them every time. Didn't like them booing the punter - that's a college kid out there.

At the same time - that Read option QB run on 3rd and long was just baffling. You could hear the swearing and groweling of the fans on TV.

Horrible.Offensive Performance.. ... . Again.

To put in perspective how much this season has baffled, I thought even the booing sounded weak-ass.

I’ve never left a game early because I usually only make 1 or 2 a year. I left in the 3rd quarter. That game was despicable and the team/coaches should be embarrassed.

I applaud you for making it past halftime. I'd been out in the vehicle slamming Fireball by then, wondering if we lose 10-9, 13-9 or 14-9.

5-7 to 7-5 was always the window for this squad with the youth and schedule. Go back and look at the preseason discussions. Its ok to be disappointed, but the experience gained by young players and the coaching staff will pay huge dividends in the coming seasons. I dont like avg, but avg was the recipe before the season started.

Maybe; but then again I think Iowa would be considered a pretty attractive landing spot for a lot of good coaches. Why? The program has only had two coaches in the past 38 years; the guy you're succeeding lasted forever for essentially going 7-5 or so most years, having a losing bowl record and winning only two conference titles (so far) in 19 years. He got paid over 4 million a year to do that. Add in great fan support, good facilities and a nice community to live in and I'd say that's a pretty attractive gig for most coaches.
I've always wondered how much of this support was toleration of mediocre play and how much was idolization of KF. Probably a lot of both.

Just how do you suppose the coaching staff will gain experience from this season when KF is the governor (automotive term referencing the gadget that prevents the acceleration pedal from being pushed in all the way)?

If one doesnt recognize that this team is young but talented and that that youth is exactly why we get handled by the more physical teams and have been "running" better with the athletic teams. Blame coaching all day long, but its youth.

Your going to tell us that the team that destroyed Nebby and OSU is too young for Purdue? I'll give you one upset per year, but the 66 against Wisconsin is not just youth.

The coaching staff is stubborn as hell. They had incredible incentive to do this one. He will be right back trying to execute into short side run on an audible and running 2/3 or more next year. Book it.

You should maybe share notes with Podolak. He seems to have a different opinion that you do.

Booing is pretty pathetic. Get over yourself. It is a game and they are college kids. If you aren't happy, leave or don't go to the game.

I agree not to boo players. I dont boo them or the coaches but I bitch about coaches ( as you know from my posts since the Purdue game). But I dont get on people for booing coaches if they think they need to espcecially head coaches and coordinators.

Of course the coaching staff laid an egg x2, but the players play. What i saw was not just coaching. I see youth and inexperience. Yes its hard to play big ten football with 2 freshmen tackles. Yes its hard when the most gifted receivers forgets how to catch. Dbs were the cause for loss vs Purdue, yes, the offense struggled but ONLY one game were we "handled." You were told before the season that 7-5 was the realistic expectation for THIS season. I think the expectation for next year should be much higher. Evaluate the team compared to today after game 12 next season. Put it in your diary. 9-3 or better should be the expectation.

Actually a reasonable post. Dont agree that this year should have neen as difficult. MSU or NW with Kf opening it up should have been a W. Ill grant 1 upset. Ill always feel Iowa was stronger than PSU, but should be 9-3 this year. Ive never seen KF win with yohng LBs. Fant will be awsome.

You folks are already talking next year and bowl game. But good points about next year. The new Lbkrs could be a repeat of 2014 when that position group was new and took a lot of bad angles, etc and it could be a liability. Or maybe a Mends or someone who has been in the program can jump in play great which we hope for.

Offensive line and QB should be improved. I hope Nate does the Stanzi and CJB and watches lots of tape because he had lots of open receivers short he never progressed back to, easy throws. Running back should be fine and I think IKM has some real burst and moves and Young looks good also, TEs are very good, need receivers to step up Marsette and Easley will be good returners.

Dee line may be better but need a quick pass rush QB pressure and the Dee backfield could be awesome if JJ comes back.

Can not argue, there. I don't remember anyone picking "Iowa" as "representing the West in Indianapolis"

Drops by the WRs was very damaging. We are not built to be in 2nd or 3rd and long. We left some long TDs out there, but the dropped 8 yard passes to put you in 2nd and 2 kills an Iowa team. Improvements in that area would be huge next year.

I "hope" it to be true in the future. I think those against KF will have the next 3 yrs to eat crow or find new and more creative reasons to hate KF. I think 3 years should bring at least one 10 win season. If not, negative attention is warranted. Talent is there to be good.

Boy are the LB's ULTRA important to the zone sitting bend but dont break defenses. You are right on. Im scared about the LB play. DLine is going to need to dominate and they CAN.
