So will he allow his kid to play or not? That’s the 5000 lbs. pink elephant in the room.
WTH does that even mean? Warren was pretty clear the B1G decision would not be revisited?
I am amazed that people are so concerned, even critical, with Warren’s personal family decisions. It is none of our business. His leadership role in the BT concerns 14 Universities and thousands of athletes. Hate his professional decision of course. Family is family.
Regarding the B1G, it really is not his decision. He works for the Presidents/Chancellors of the 14 universities. I get it, he has say but they are two different decisions. Not trying to be an asshole, but you don’t see the conflict of interest here?

It is all about the MONEY I don't care what BS they spew out. Stands with 15,000 people won't pay many bills and maybe they can fill em in the spring.
Safety of the players? Please! Players that are amongst the healthiest individuals walking the face of the earth, that are being sheltered as much as possible and TESTED regularly lining up once a week against another team of players doing the same, is putting their lives at risk. Ya right. Better keep em out of class and off the streets then.
Glad the High School GIRLS and boys in Iowa got to enjoy softball and baseball this summer, complete with State Championships. Went to a State Championship Game. Was pretty normal. Stands were packed, attendance was same as always. Girls got to fulfill their dreams. Anybody read about the big outbreak afterwards? Or how many girls ended up on life support? No, me neither.
That's a good question and I don't have the answer. But I believe that this is the sort of decision that is of such magnitude that it is above his pay grade and the leaders of the universities were the ones making the call. My own thought is that as much as safety and health of the individual was a factor, the threat of liability that would have been potentially placed on each school had someone had a bad outcome was just a much of a factor. I read somewhere that something like 10 B1G athletes have been diagnosed with myocarditis. That was at the forefront of their thinking, IMO.So how much pull and/or sway does he have? Is he just a figurehead that the B1G throws out there......anti-Delaney?
You mean for the teams that actually got to finish their seasons and not some of the top ranked teams that had their seasons end prematurely. My opinion is after cancelling all the spring sports, baseball and softball were nothing more than lab rats because there was no way that they'd be able to play football in the fall if they couldn't figure out a way to get through a baseball season.
Personally I'm glad the kids got to have a season and I'm glad that there weren't more teams who's seasons were cut short, but at the same time I felt it was an absolute gamble that could have easily had a much different outcome. There's a reason we were one of the few states nationwide to offer any high school sports over the summer and I don't think it's because those that pulled the plug had bad information. I think we were very fortunate.
