It's been a long time since we've able to really talk about basketball itself in regards to Iowa.

So many threads the past few years (and I understand why) were just complaints, bickering between fans, etc...

So, thank you. Thank you for coming on here and talking basketball. It's what basketball fans love to do. It's what I love to do. Thanks for talking basketball.
 
I agree. unfortuniatally the majority of Iowa Basketball fans are band wagon jumpers . just watch after Coach gets this turned around the amount of fans who didn't care over the last couple of years are now huge fans waiving the banner.
 
Stormin' - I've loved the basketball coverage/discussion so far. As an out of stater trying to catch insight on a team that hasn't been very good the last few years this has been a great source.
 
Agreed, it is very refreshing and exciting to see the enthusiasm that is building around the team. I am enjoying seeing the progress being made by the team and for the first time in a very long time am confident that we will have a winning program once again in the near future.
 
Right on man, lets keep the bickering and complaining where it belongs. On the football boards...
 
It's so nice to see hustle, energy, and effort again from the Boys in Black & Gold. It seems like "White Magic" has inspired the team, something that was sorely lacking over the past several years. I'm feeling very positive about the future of the program. :)
 
It's nice to just have some HOPE!

I am interested in seeing how the Freshman class and Eric May develop this season.

JK.....glad Iowa basketball is at least interesting again
 
I wanted to say completely awful and painful to watch but I didn't want this to be mistaken for the football board.
 
I feel like Iowa bb has been inhabited by Zombies the last 3 years. Zombieland is done,and Iowa bb is back to the 21st century again. The Hawks are a real bb team playing like a college team should play again. Thank God our long national hawkeye bb nightmare is over. We are back among the living again.
 
It was pretty cool last night. I was actually nervous toward the end of the game and ****** after it was over.

It has been a long time since that has been true.

At this point I don't even care. I've been a season ticket holder throughout this whole mess and I just want bodies in the seats next to me. Even bandwagon fans have capabilities to turn into full time die hard fans. And the more the better. There was a self-implode mechanism hooked to these sites over the last few years(where people seemed more excited when we lost because it made for interesting threads on this site). I'm glad we've been able to talk more basketball on here lately. It's much appreciated by those of us who truly love the game.

And props to Stormin for staying so cool during the process. You are a better man than me my friend. :)
 
right now it feels like things are going to get turned around and in the past we have just thought it was going down the dumps

ppl believe in fran and the players do as well

I've got news for you - that's the way it is with sports. You actually think this is unique to Iowa?

It's pot-stirring posts like this that we can do without.

+1. I can say exactly the same thing. It was nice to actually CARE about the outcome of the game again. Too bad yet another last-second 3 found the bottom of the net against us, but if we keep improving like we are, I think our team will be a tough out for a lot of opponents this year, even if we don't necessarily win alot of games.

No moral victories for me, but I found reason to be optimistic after last night's game.
