SURPRISE! Iowa is ranked #5 in latest CFB Playoff rankings

I think the committee is finally getting it after last week. I heard Jeff Long being interviewed this morning and he was eating a little crow admitting Iowa was just so balanced that it makes up for the lack of being "exciting" (paraphrase). I think they really put the SOS into Iowa's equation as Iowa is the 2nd highest rated of the unbeaten teams, only behind Ohio St.

I actually think the media is coming around a bit as I have heard some admit Iowa has had a good schedule up until now. Iowa is slooooowly getting respect.

Agreed, the committee just corrected the one mistake they had in the initial rankings.
 
I'm willing to give Jon credit with the article he wrote, as having been a factor in the committee re-evaluating our position.

When we weren't in the 7-11 group or whatever I was like, wow, oh boy, here we go. The when we came in at five I was a little like whose your daddy now, awesome town, we're back. Then I was like a little nervous and a little scared with a little we're gonna destroy the world mixed in. Wait, what just happened? I was alll sorts of menopausal confused. I felt like kelso learning we landed in the moon.

Loved Danny and Joey and their comments about us. We basically were the most talked about on the national playoffs ranking show, I can't believe it, but how great is that. We've been out of the discussion for five years, now we're back. We wanted it, now we've got it. Big time kudos to this team and the coaches, and you bet your asss that includes coach Ferentz.

Now, it's all there for the taking. So you know, go out there and get it done, win state (Friday night lights reference). Just win.
 
Wow, this is sweet. I honestly expected more like 7th but I'll take it!

The Hawks just need to do their part now and keep winning. One game at a time boys (looking at coaches and players, not the fans) and stay focused!
 
When they showed the resumes of teams 4-6, was anyone else thinking they were going to put us 4 for a second? I was thinking "holy sh!t they are showing the teams in this order because of how crazy it is that we are number 4!" After they showed ND at 4, I was 100% certain we were 5 over Baylor though. It was awesome how the entire show was based around us. Please don't crap the bed Saturday night guys!
