Stuff Going Around From Camp

Pottebaum can move. Coached against him when he was in high school and his speed is deceptive for a big guy. His 40 was consistently 4.80 in high school, I'm assuming that's dropped a tenth or two since he put on weight @ Iowa, but even still, a 4.9 at 250 lbs is a handful to stop in short yardage situations.

Think LeRoy Hoard only faster.

LeeeeeeRoooy Hooooard!!

We weren't down to walk-on receivers back then. We are now.
That's the obvious response. KF doesn't always respond to the obvious....and you know that. Fant, why wouldn't get him more touches. Some idiot Clemson coach never really used Dwight Clark either. Clark, Kittle, Fant are all about the same height and build. Then again, you were in diapers at the time of "the catch".

The narrative that Fant was underused and it was some Ferentz conspiracy is silly. Reminder, he was the #2 TE on the roster that year. The draft confirms that. While BF calls the play, rarely is there a call that requires the QB to throw to a specific receiver. The defense has to be read by the QB and the QB decides where the ball goes. I am confident Iowa did not employ "Don't throw to Noah" plays his last year.

I remember "the catch." It was not a spectacular catch or route. He jumped all of six inches and caught it with two hands. The throw was better. But anyone who beats the Cowboys is okay with me.

Anybody remember the little riff or awkward moment between Fant and KF or the coaches. It seems I remember he was in the doghouse for a bit. Was it is family posting crap about the lack of PT? I just remember there being something there for a bit. I think I remember him standing on the sidelines but was healthy.

It was his brother. His brother is a broke Husker fan who hated Iowa, and he went on a bunch of twitter tirades about Noah not getting enough snaps. What he obviously was afraid of was that Noah wouldn't get enough exposure to make in in the NFL, because he wanted to ride on his brother's income.

Their whole family are Husker fans, there were lots of social media pics of them wearing nebraska gear. His sister wore a Husker stocking cap to the spring game in '18.

His twitter account is a cesspool even to this day.

Richman is back at practice. He was in today’s photo gallery.

Keagan Johnson has been practicing just not sure how much contact he’s taking. He’s been dealing with some things since before the bowl game.

Kaleb Johnson is going to play….and probably quite a bit.

Ostrenga and Pascuzzi are young TEs that have had a good camp

As already mentioned, Graves is going to be hard to keep off the field.

Hell of a catch ...

Football was a bit different in the late 70s. In Dwight's senior year 1978, he had 11 catches, which was 2nd most on Clemson's team (their leader had 58 of their 111 receptions). They had 7 TD passes the entire year and Clark had 2 of them.

Yes but nobody expected hom to get a shot in the NFL due to his output.

Nobody said conspiracy. That's lame. He does have the Banks McCann, Stanzi Jake, Beathard Ruddock mysteries. After reviewing fil I sort of maybe get Ruddock. CJs fundamentals were weaker. Ok, the the Raesetter situation was not explainable.

Never will understand other decisions. T Banks and Dwight not getting more touches under Fry. Wadley and Jones more recently. Roswell. Area 51.

10th round pick. Bill Walsh knew. :)
Yes he did. I was a little kid watching the 9ers back in the days of Brodie. My best friend's parents had a good friend named John Brodie which was true and from SF, but not the same. I was hooked. Lean years until Montana to Clark.... remember the catch like yesterday.

According to Dochterman's latest article, Johnson is unlikely to play on Saturday (hamstring). Brecht has an outside shot of playing.

But likely looking at entering a game with 2 available scholarship WRs (Bruce and Bostick).

Some bad luck went into this, but as the article details, this has to be viewed as a programmatic failure, and this is a recurring theme at this position.

Expect a huge dose of RB and TE play. Protect those scholarship receivers.

Someone tell me about ABtheIV?

I never played football, so I can't look at a guy and say "wow" or "nay". I mean, I remember seeing Jovon Johnson get picked on when he got his first starts. My recollection was he was a young starter? Maybe even filling in for injury? I dunno. I thought he was terrible and feared the years ahead of him playing. I can admit I was wrong. I apparently know nothing about judging someone's empirical football ability or future capability.

For me, it's like "when do you know how to turn your windshield wipers on when it's raining?". The answer is, "when it's evident you need to turn on your wipers". How do I know a player is good? When they're good.

I kinda like what I saw from Bruce. He might not seem like the type to streak down the field past the defenders and catch leaping 30 yard passes with one hand. But he sure seems like a guy who can catch one past the sticks. And certainly can execute gadget-y type plays. With good TEs and a decent running game, that seems of value. Potentially quite damaging.

Feel free to tell me I'm wrong. I don't get butthurt.
