Rob, a quick correction. The article says "Moore already has officially visited Connecticut and Louisville and was reportedly back at UConn Tuesday", but it should say Vital.
And thanks for the info.
I thought we had a good shot at Vital and little to no shot at Moore. Now it's looking like it may be the other way around. Reading between the lines I get the impression Vital wants UConn but his mom has to give the okay. And I think Cook and immediate playing time have Iowa in the mix for Moore. If he's trying to set up a visit that's a positive sign IMO.
If both of them struggle to hit threes with minimal minutes, you might be right. If either of them can come in and provide the dead-eye here and there, they'll stick. I think Bohannon has a better shot at this than Ellingson.Rob... To call Jordan Bohannon a combo guard is to say Iowa was desperate to land a guard. If Iowa does land Charlie Moore, both Brady Ellingson and Jordan Bohannon's BB careers at Iowa are over. The changing (transfer) of the guards. Brady and Jordan are not athletic enough nor fast. They do not Fran's uptempo transition basketball. In the halfcourt game they will get exploited by larger and stronger opponents.
Both Ellingson and Bohannon are too foot slow for B1G play and Bohannon has no business at the SG spot. Sub 6'3" SGs are often not very successful at the top 25 level of college basketball. It may just be my opinion but the stats are in my favor.
Crazy how that works... welcome to recruiting...right?
Maybe during and shortly after the Licklighter era I'd have agreed with you. But it's high time we get past that line of thinking and start landing some of them. Cook is a great start and hopefully he'll help land Moore.Even if we don't get either it's nice to be in the conversation...under consideration. Anything that puts the Iowa name out there is good IMO.

I disagree with this.To me, Bohannon perfectly fits the 6th man mold. He needs a couple years to develop his game and his body so he's ready to contribute at this level, but he's a Bohannon. Have you watched any of his brothers? They are all tough nosed players who just ball out. They are smart and they hit big shots. They do whatever the team needs them to do. I'm sure as hell not going to be one of the idiots on here who claims he isn't a B10 level player. I have a sneaky suspicion that he's going to prove that contingent of basketball fans completely wrong.
Now, he won't play over Moore and he shouldn't play over Moore if he decides to come to Iowa. However, I firmly believe he'll contribute at some point down the road.
Moore looks like exactly what we are looking for. A true point guard. Not a 6'6 tweener guard or a slow 5'11 guard who cannot create his own shot. Not only that, but landing the Illinois Mr. Basketball would be quite a feather in Fran's recruiting cap and could lead to some street cred down the road.
