Iowa points per game by year

So, since points per game was such a big part of the 'story' last year, and since this year feels rather bountiful at times....

Under Kirk:

1999 14.7
2000 16.9
2001 31
2002 37.2
2003 28.7
2004 24.3
2005 30
2006 23.8
2007 18.5
2008 30.3
2009 23.2
2010 28.9
2011 27.5
2012 19.3
2013 26.3
2014 28.2
2015 30.9
2016 24.9
2017 28.2
2018 31.2
2019 25.8
2020 31.8
2021 23.4
2022 17.7
2023 15.4
2024 29.4

Interestingly, Brain holds the #2 and #3 spots on the all time under Kirk. Course he also demonstrated a consistent and enduring pattern not present under any other OC. Lester on pace for a what, top 15% average in year one?

I don't know if this affirms Tim Lester. Or Kirkball. Or neither. But, it's hard to complain too much (even though I still will). I still think it's all not worked out yet.

But I sure as heck enjoyed watching Saturday. And enjoyed a rewatch last night. It was fun football. Johnson is my favorite kind of Iowa back. Just a demoralizer to the opponents. At this point, you almost have to expect him to somehow bust one. I was previously impressed with Sullivan's hustle getting out for that block. Maybe now more impressed with Johnson on the pick 6. A guy with nothing he needs to prove in that situation, and yet, he was the only guy who had a chance at catching the guy and he poured every bit of his speed into it and didn't give up until the guy absolutely had it about 10-15 yards out. That kind of stuff and the reactions to Pascuzzi's catch, Wetjen's TD, etc. A vibrancy we've just not seen in years. I'm tentatively here for it.

Nice to watch a game and be able to relax and tune out in the 4th quarter against an inferior team because the score isn't 7-5.
