STORY: The Hawkeyes May Have Found A Punter

Just my opinion but I think that guy was seriously just making a joke about how bad ISU's Aussie punter was in the game last year.
He was, but then WRNL had to jump in and get catty.

Those guys give ISU fans a bad name. They personify the "little brother" stereotype and generally put out low-quality content. You guys need a much better blog/forum selection.

KF of all people is not going to purposefully put a worse punter on the field for cash. First, KF is rich and has all the job security in the world. Don't think he needs to rub the leg of anyone at this point in his career. Be serious.

Second, the guy loves to punt! Its like his favorite play to call. He lives to punt. No way he is shorting the most valued unit on the squad.

Gersonde is just as bad. KF recruited two bad punters, one of which may have been offered as a mild favor to a friend of the program. But, KF put the best of two flaming bags of poop onto the field. That's the extent of the story here.
You know what rich people like? Getting richer. Yeah KF doesn't seem like the type but then again look at how his agent conducts business on his behalf. So sure he donates a ton to charity and all that too for tax purposes but it'd be naïve to think he's above what's been suggested completely. You may be right and we'll probably never know for sure. I just can't sit here and say definitively either way. We only know what he wants us to know about him. That's just how it is.

I don't spend a ton of time on Twitter and never read tweets from accounts I don't follow, do people actually do that?

Unfortunately. I'm sure there are Iowa "fans" doing it. This fool came right out of the box with it after I tweeted the story on the punter. I get that he might have been joking but it was a shot at the Sleep-Dalton, who told me as much.

Maybe we're just snowflakes.

Do you guys carpool to Flat Earth meetings?

How many head coaches do you know of that take multiple private flights to the hometowns of ultra-rich uncles of super sucky punters, especially when they know the punters are super sucky beforehand?

KF has to court and dance with donors, yes. That is how college football is. Hayden had to do same thing. It is how facilities get built. Do we wish to have nice things or not????? Who did Fitz dance with to get the grand palace practice facility in Evanston???

Fry, please send me the tape of the kid sitting on the bench who is ready to boom 60 yard punts, but doesn't have the cash to get on the field.

Now, if you want to make the argument that KF purposefully shanked his recruitment of punters to get this kid an opportunity, okay, I will wear my tinfoil hat and listen. But, I saw the competition on the field with Gersonde with my own eyes, and Rassy was the shiniest turd on that pile . . . unfortunately.

Gersonde was a fairly highly rated punter coming and thought maybe he had worked with a former Iowa kicker or was recommended by him. Was thinking Bradley. Could be wrong though. With punters not really sure how it changes so much from high school to college and why someone would have trouble transitioning unless there was an injury.

Just like I told what's-his-name earlier, you can believe what you want. I won't change your mind one bit but it doesn't make you any less naive.

There's absolutely no way a P5 coach continues to play a walk-on who is the worst player in D-1 and in program history at his position, without some sort of sketchiness going on (in whatever form that may be).

I know you guys look at Ferentz like Catholics do the pope, but I ain't buyin' it.

You mean this guy?

After firing Rich Rodriguez in January2011, then-Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon ventured to the Chicago area to try to meet with Fitzgerald, offering $3 million a year and the marvel that is the Big House. Fitzgerald was making $1.1 million and Northwestern had the Big Ten's worst football facilities, as rated by ESPN.com.

Ryan, Schapiro and Phillips were determined to squash that meeting. And they did.

Face to face with the NU triumvirate for 90 minutes, Fitzgerald pitched a lakefront facility that would "integrate" the football team with the student body, creating a first-rate, on-campus training facility rather than the mediocre one a mile away.

"It was not an unreasonable request at all," Ryan says. "In fact it was a visionary request. But nobody knew if we could do it. There were regulatory issues, and the Army Corps of Engineers (would be involved). The financial issues, we felt we could do."

Meaning Ryan, who already had his name on NU's football stadium and basketball arena, would take the lead in a project that would cost $270 million.

That's a certain method online. BGHP does or did the same thing.

C'mon CR threw a money ball right to Brincks at Penn State.

I am just saying Kirk has to be involved heavily in shaking down donors as that is the way of the world. Donors pay for access / names on buildings, etc. No secret there. Not much different than politics really when it comes to that side of the "business". Those with the $ will always have a much greater influence than people like you and me.

I don't think Kirk plays someone based on who a relative is. He may have allowed the kid to walk on because of that yes, but not playing time.

CR was on the team in 2015. Why not just have the kid kick right then? I mean $, c'mon.

Honestly didn't see that, that's my fault, I don't really read twitter all that closely.

No worries. Had he not included the kid in the tweet, I would have just ignored it, like I usually do.

And you're better off not being on Twitter.
