Not only is there zero footage or pics proving this, but Rob mentioned that Kirk even said in the post-game press conference that he wished he had asked/signaled for a timeout. That's an odd comment to make if he actually asked for a timeout...

Any reporters or beat guys (as InGood calls them) claiming Kirk called for a timeout are most likely just repeating a false narrative resulting from the short video posted on Twitter of the ref appearing to either potentially call a delay of game or timeout. Maybe another Iowa coach called for a timeout which is certainly possible, but the most plausible scenario is that the ref saw one second left on the play clock and was instinctually reacting but didn't continue forth with his action since it was the back judge's responsibility.

I was hoping BF would call it again Saturday and give Nate a chance to redeem himself.
