Staff Change?

another thought could be a coach is taking a job elsewhere, there's been rumors of Soup taking over as OC
at Eastern Michigan , and soup has done a good job in helping Iowa land Michigan kids.

Staggs was a 3 star could of went to a number of schools. But wanted to be a Hawk. A former Hawk who went to almost all the practices says he was the best reciver on the team this year. Funny he didnt see the field dont you think
Indiana just created a new position as Recruiting evaluator which resilted in them getting 4 4*'s.
Maybe KF can do the same at Iowa and promote Erb to that position, and bring in another RB coach, that or promote Raih to a full time position coach from GA
Also I read a post listing Staggs as a failed WR under Soup, the kid was a WALKON that did not develope big difference, as for KMM he was a 2* and had 30 catches for 323 yards as a FR, then followed it up with leading the team in reception as a SO with 52 catches for 571 yards. I would say Davis is doing his job, considering what he has to work with, as for Davis he had 47 catches for 571 yards.
so which is it was it JVB or bad WR's.
but with some of you want to blame anybody you can think of.

2 rumors out of IC which probably means they arent true
1) Soup's house is on the market and he is leaving

There is a house belonging to a John E. Campbell that just showed up on Zillow two days ago and Trulia one day ago in Coralville. It's the only property owned by a John E. Campbell in Johnson County that would fit as the other is owned by a John Yack and Carol Campbell. Soup's name is John Erik Campbell according to the annual Iowa salaries database info that can be accessed at the Des Moines Register.

None of this guarantees it's the Iowa WR coach Erik Campbell, or that its his property, or that he lives in Johnson County for sure, or that if he is selling it that he is leaving Iowa. People sell properties and move within the same town all of the time.

Are you guys talking about Steven Staggs?

Steven Staggs - Yahoo! Sports

He was a walk-on, he was from Oskaloosa and graduated from high school with Tyler Sash. Tyler Sash was a 2* recruit with limited offers but he received a scholarship out of HS, Staggs did not.

I love these inside stories. So you are telling me he was the best receiver but didn't see the field. Seems like a very logical statement.

How do I get hooked up so I can have inside sources? Is there catalog I have to place my order from?

Staggs was a year behind. Sash, could of went to a number of schools not mention Army or Harvard

Well, since you asked there is a path that you can follow. You must first get a degree in Cryptography. The next step is to order a Red Rider Decoder Ring......and lastly, get a subscription to Earl May's Summer Catalog as the secrets are always conveyed in code within.

Note - Some of us that follow the underground recruiting gossip have followed this path for years. Make sure you get the summer version of Earl May because if you get the fall one it has many distractions and errors. It is loaded with stuff about stars and decimals. I know because the Iowa staff has been using that one for awhile now.

Not sure if serious? Staggs was a walk-on and he graduated HS with Sash. I think I would know I am from that HS and I have many friends from that class. Tyler Sash was at Iowa in 2008, 2009 and 2010 as then as after his true-junior year he declared for the draft leaving a year early. Staggs, however, redshirted in 2008, so then he was there in 2009 as a RS FR, 2010 as a RS SO, then 2011 as a RS JR, then this year was his SR year. Not sure how much proof you need but you are wrong.

Steven Staggs was never listed as a scholarship "committment" because he walked on the same year Sash committed. Check out Rivals but you can check Scout as well.

Iowa Hawkeye fans always act like jilted lovers when someone leaves. Either, 1) we were always too good for you anyway, or 2) we don't deserve to be loved.

I do find Jon's posts interesting though. Really does feel like some preemptive PR when you consider the WR piece and this thread about Erb if both end up leaving.

I observed that the Cedar Rapids Gazette published this photo today in connection with a story projecting bowl games. Seems so far away ... and yet so near.

University of Iowa football coach Hayden Fry serves a meal to his players Mel Cole, left, and Andre Tippett in Los Angeles, where the team is to play against Washington in the Rose Bowl, in this Dec. 23, 1981 photo. The worst of Fry's 20 seasons with the Hawkeyes ended with an embarrassing 49-7 loss at Minnesota on Saturday, the Golden Gophers' most lopsided Big Ten win in 49 years. Fry has a news conference scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday Nov. 23, 1998. (AP photo Nick Ut)
