I have also heard from several people with connections that someone else will be leaving after signing day is over.....and most people will be happy if it is true, including me.

Gotta be Lester Erb. Most hated position coach by most Iowa fans, but a top notch recruiter. I would be ecstatic if Phil Parker was asked to move on, but not gonna happen. Sigh.
Let's assume you're right. How do you think your brother-in-law is going to react when this post is shared with him?
Pretty sure Iowa either lead the B1G in drops a few of those years and if not lead were in the top 3 or so.
Don't people idiots just because DJK and McNutt had some good years.
If Coach Campbell hadn't come from Michigan who is known for NFL level talent receivers I don't think as many people would be as high on him.

I think people get too caught up in stuff like this. Erb recruits a state where Iowa has had success for as long as I can remember. Outside of Iowa, I would guess more Illinois natives have played football for Iowa than natives of any other state. Erb is assigned to Illinois. Kirk Ferentz is still the coach and closer, as is the Iowa campus, facilities, etc. I do think that some assistant coaches in the sport are worth their weight in gold as door openers and such, but on the whole I think they are just foot soldiers by and large.

I don't think he is a bad coach, just didn't see much beyond DJK or McNutt. Keenan shined at times, as does KMM but beyond that I don't see much to give him as credit.

He has not just been getting random players from Illinois, he is consistently getting top level recruits that are highly coveted by dozens of other schools. Dan Doering (didn't pan out, but could have gone anywhere), Dace Richardson, Moeaki, CJF, go all the way back to Matt Roth, Kyle "Bonecrusher" Williams (in prison now, but huge 5* recruit), the top-level success has been staggering. And WTF is this all of sudden with your "Iowa has great facilities" line? They just put a ton of money in there, but it was widely accepted as fact that PRIOR TO THIS YEAR Iowa had some of the worst facilities in the conference. Do you just intentionally ignore this? Are you ignorant of this fact? What exactly is your deal on this issue? This idea that a mid-level program like Iowa just sells itself is nonsense, and is completely contradictory to your standard line that Iowa faces such huge institutional disadvantages that even medicore success should be embraced and celebrated here. I love how you cherrypick your arguments based on what fits into your pre-conceived notions about the program on that particular day.
