Spring practice photos

Not to be that guy but I have an uneasy feeling about this year. We could surprise but a lot of question marks

Pic #7 shows Rudock at QB with the #1s. Also, Bullock is at tailback and Weisman at fullback in that picture.

I thought Reese Morgan was retiring? I guess not, or could he be just helping out during spring?

I think Ruddock will be our starter and battle it out with Sokol through the first few games. A JC and Stanzi type battle .

I am slowly becoming more optimistic for this year. But first I want to enjoy basketball until next Thursday, then after that I can start worrying about football season.

Interview with brandon Scherff

I think our defense will be kind of sick. I can't wait to see. I think our O line will do some work also along with the RB's.

Okay, I work at a school that runs the HUNH. Brandon said a key word that makes me believe a sea change is happening "tempo."

I never feel all that confident when the Hawks talk about no huddle that they will actually really use it. But, HUNH teams always talk about the importance of tempo in practice. In fact, it pretty much has become the new "execution."

Could be really interesting. I could see some early growing pains, before things really start clicking.

Yeah...but with our OL, it may be a "hurry up, so we can run the football again." Wow...loved the interview with Brandon. "Doyle spent the time with me so I could get stronger in my upper body." Ok...315 pounds...and he isn't exactly carry a big belly like some 315 pound guys. Would you want to line up across from that dude.

I loved the attitude. You can tell BF is making a mark...this is what we are going to be: Bullies of the Big Ten.

BF talked about tempo a lot last year......so Im really excited also.

Photo Gallery 1, pics 12 and 13 - when did Bubba Ray Dudley start coaching for the Hawks?

Still can't believe that kid played QB in high school. He carried the weight pretty well then, too.

Malzahn's O is actually predicated on the run. People think about it as a wide open passing attack, but his teams lead the conference in rushing.

Bryan Harsin is trying to develop a more power O high tempo offense. That might be more what Iowa develops.

Saying it and doing it are much different things. We are a long long ways from being the bullies in the big ten. If I had the season I had last year I would not say that for fear of being laughed at. That's reality
