Saying it and doing it are much different things. We are a long long ways from being the bullies in the big ten. If I had the season I had last year I would not say that for fear of being laughed at. That's reality
I think my point was that Scherff in his interview was pretty clear about what he needed to do and the OL needs to do, and came across to me, IMO only, that he has a chip on his shoulder. The attitude appears to be in place. I'm not sure it's fair to look at last year after game 6 and say they would be laughed at. If Scherff and Donnal don't go down, I think it's a much different season. We certainly beat Indiana, Purdue, and probably Nebraska. I may be the only one who thinks so, but I thought the OL was pretty good starting with Central Michigan, Minnesota, and Michigan State. They were moving people and protecting the QB and were on their way to being a very good group. The difference between last year and this year is that the drop off won't be so drastic if we lose a few guys...that being said, losing Scherff is a huge loss. I thought he was playing incredible football and was just coming into his own last year.
With the experience we now have, I think these guys are going to perform like the moniker. We will see.
