Spring practice photos

Saying it and doing it are much different things. We are a long long ways from being the bullies in the big ten. If I had the season I had last year I would not say that for fear of being laughed at. That's reality

I think my point was that Scherff in his interview was pretty clear about what he needed to do and the OL needs to do, and came across to me, IMO only, that he has a chip on his shoulder. The attitude appears to be in place. I'm not sure it's fair to look at last year after game 6 and say they would be laughed at. If Scherff and Donnal don't go down, I think it's a much different season. We certainly beat Indiana, Purdue, and probably Nebraska. I may be the only one who thinks so, but I thought the OL was pretty good starting with Central Michigan, Minnesota, and Michigan State. They were moving people and protecting the QB and were on their way to being a very good group. The difference between last year and this year is that the drop off won't be so drastic if we lose a few guys...that being said, losing Scherff is a huge loss. I thought he was playing incredible football and was just coming into his own last year.

With the experience we now have, I think these guys are going to perform like the moniker. We will see.

Yeah, I also thought the line loomed pretty good in early games (minus the first game where they gave up 33 sacks). My point is that we all want that title if bullies of the big ten after it was said one time. We are a ways from that right now so I caution ourselves from wanting to claim that title.

I very much agree. Good post Century.

Thanks for the photos. The defensive linemen look like they have bulked up. Drew Ott looks much bigger and if that helps him maintain leverage without losing speed that is good.

Morris is looking like he wants to plug some holes.

Cant wait to see them in action. I have a good vibe about the defense and I think they will be able to run well enough and the new QB(s) will do well.

I hope the coaches let the QBs take off and run more often. JVB had some big runs the last couple games and that is always a backbreaker for a defense.

Wow, a couple of good shots of Scherff in there. He was pancaking someone in one of the earlier pics. The pic of Blythe at near the end of the shot was pretty impressive. He looks like he's gotten alot bigger.

I don't think I've seen Faith or Jaleel in any shots yet. Carl Davis is imposing. Now if he can be imposing when the ball snaps. I think the light goes on here. Time for him to make the next step and be very very disruptive.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts the no-huddle is for the preseason fans... I mean, JVB flourished in it against Pitt. How many times was it used afterward?
