Sorry to be an Optimist....

I've explained myself multiple times.

The last time I remember you explaining you root for Northwestern for football and you root for another school in basketball. Unless you changed over the summer, I did disappear after basketball season was over.

I have to admitt I dont know what to make of this team yet. I see some things I really like. But am still concerned about Pass D & I still dont know if we any WRs besides KMM who can catch the ball. Unless those two things are fixed we will strugle to beat anyone in the B-10 If we solve those to some degree we can be in every game except probley OSU

Iowa's defense is the worst in the Big Ten and gives up big plays like a pez dispenser. 5 wins is the best were going to see this year but I still say 4-8. Don't underestimate how badly northwestern will beat us either. They hate us and won't take the foot off the gas.

Why do some think we have a shot against Michigan, NW and tOSU? It's so obvious why we don't.

Vandberg never drops the ball. If he gets in more often yhe offense will be better for it. Him and KMM would make a good wide receiver duo.

We have a chance in those games right up until kickoff. Now I will say that I think we will improve as the season goes on as far as play goes, not so sure about the coaching tho

I agree with you (although funky things seem to always happen in the Iowa-NU game, it's just that usually it's gone against Iowa.)

The issue I have is somehow 3 sure conference losses doesn't equal 7 conference losses. If you set the over/under conference wins at 1.5 I'd happily take the over.

I'm of the exact same opinion. At this point in time I wouldn't wager any money on this team one way or the other.

We haven't even played a Big Ten Game yet, the verdict is still out.

Nobody has played a B1G game. That doesnt mean that its possible for any of the 12 teams to have the worst defense in the conference just because nobody has played a game against B1G competition.

All you have to go on is stats from 3 non-conference games and its pretty obvious Iowa doesnt have the worst defense in the B1G.

I know it wasnt you who said they were though.

But it seems to me that Iowa has a chance against everyone left on their schedule except for Ohio State. Here we go:

1. W. Michigan: We SHOULD win this game.
2. At Minnesota: Gophers are ok, but not great. I think we match up pretty well.
3. MSU: Great defense, but questionable offense. And we get them at home.
4. At Ohio State: Loss
5. Northwestern: Very good team, but an average defense. I think we can score on them if we limit turnovers.
6. Wisconsin: Why not?
7. At Purdue: Purdue is not good. 60/40 shot.
8. Michigan: They should have lost to winless Akron at home. They don't seem invincible to me.
9. At Nebraska: They stink on defense. STINK. And they may be without a coach. We will move the ball on them at home if Rudock is healthy and keeps progressing.

An optimist would have believed their post would be a good thing without the need for an upfront apology.

Instead you assumed that it would be negative which is why you did apologized.

You're a pessimist.

While Im concerned, what we do know is we are probley better than last year and we played most of those games to within 3 point and beat 2 of them. We also know KF knows how to keep us in games. ( that should stir things up ) I would just like to see Powell as deep threat and Vandeberg develope into a posation reciver. I like the Freshman coner. But he is still a Fr. A firm beliver that the best time to play most Fr. is when they are Jr

I has a shot in every game. KF can keep games relatively close. He can get teams up for big games but he also lets his team play down & lets directional teams hang around. But, they are usually in all games.

KF could keep games relatively close when the other coaches in the Big Ten played conservative ball. But last year Michigan, Northwestern and Penn State were never in doubt for the opposition because our secondary stinks worse than a hog confinement lot on a hot July afternoon and our pass rush stinks worse than that Farm Egg plant up on highway 169 between Humboldt and Fort Dodge.
