I enjoyed the win tonight and hope it carries over into next season but we all know what happens when we have high expectations going into a season. I am hoping that changes next year.
When a fan is bragging about a 9-9 bowl win record that is interesting to say the least.

Agreed!!! The narrative of KF by some on this site is and always has been LAUGHABLE!!! KF can and will leave whenever the hell he wants, to say otherwise is downright ridiculous!!
Well the hawks have played a lot of SEC teams and other top teams in bowl games. The hawks play up in rank most times in bowl games so 9-9 is pretty good.

There are Not a lot of bright ones talking Dean! To downplay KF value to this program is what I would call ignorance at the highest level.
See my reply right after your post above as people do have to realize Iowa has played some tough effin competition in bowl games. Hawks usually play up in rank and are underdogs. they have put on some whippings and been whipped bad a few times but usually play well and have beaten 3 or 4 SEC teams, now USC, a ranked Mizzou, etc etc

The question i have is why do we get a game like this once a year or once every few years ?
yet we’ll go into the 2020 conference season and average 20ppg and struggle to manage that.
this was a well coached game by Kirk and Brian. They clearly can open the offense up (tho zone running game needs to go), and it does help to have “good” Stanley
next years QB has to be accurate for the offense to have a chance. So many playmakers, just get them the ball

You do realize iowa was favored in this game....correct? Helton has been under fire at USC all year and they haven’t been relevant in years. Quit acting like this was a win over a real USC team because it wasn’t. A great performance indeed but just like the South Carolina win, the BC win and S Carolina, not wins over top shelf teams. And thinking recruiting ground is going to open all of a sudden or that ferentz is even interested in that then you simply haven’t been paying attention
Like most seasons, Kirk will have a talk with the AD about his future, that is, have a talk with himself. Then let everyone know.
I know Iowa was favored but USC still supposedly had the better players, just not the best system or team. Hey, anytime you beat a SEC team it is great since that league is the ESPN-best. Our supposed starting QB next year is from Cali, maybe we should go after some west coast and islander kids like Samoa. Kirk has four SEC team notches on his belt but I believe Missou was still Big 12 when they beat them.
