"Iowa Football's lovable town drunk"?

Classy. About what I would expect from a 'Clone.

You know, I do understand why self-loathing cardinal and mustard fans such as yourself hate and ridicule a highly successful, and respected, former Hawkeye and NFL football player, and the current color commentator for Hawkeye football games. It must absolutely kill you guys when he gets to broadcast to much of the nation about how Iowa rolls over the 'Clones.

Someone needs to take off their black and gold glasses a little bit. You think the nation gives a damn about some 7-5 team out of the midwest with a relatively small following such as the Hawkeyes? The only time the Hawks are in national news it comes with headlines such as:

"Iowa WR Arrested for Running a Drug House"
"Iowa RB Arrested for Marijuana Possession"
"Iowa Football Players On Trial For Rape Accusations"
"Iowa Football Program Sends 13 Players to the Hospital After Rigorous Workouts"

Is it weird that the first thing I thought of was CyFan? I haven't read the thread yet, but I do see that some of the more anti-Hawk posters are over defending their honor.

See that's the thing. When an Iowa player gets busted for pot and kicked off the team it's on ESPN because Iowa matters. When 3 ISU football players get suspended from the team after getting busted for pot nobody runs with it because you don't matter.

When you win as consistently as Iowa has over the last decade you get exposure, and sometimes that exposure is good, and sometimes it isn't. It's just part of being famous and something we are going to have to learn to live with.

You know what though, that Eastern Illinois squad really showed some heart out there.

They showed more heart than ISU did. ISU gave up after their first offensive possession. EIU at least had the balls to run a trick play and managed to score on Iowa's first team defense.

More than the Clones did, no doubt about it...

Like I said, I'm not going to bother. Now you may be an intelligent guy, but your typed word screams otherwise, at least on this topic. I just don't think you've put any thought into it, at all.

By all means, please do bother. We're all ears.

Maybe I missed the part where Koeppel was laying in a hospital in serious condition with multiple broken bones. Two very different situations.

What's next? Is Jamie Pollard's kid fair game? (makes your stomach turn doesn't it? Now take that feeling and think about the Podolak's condition as if you were one of his family)

A guy was almost killed for god sakes. Do you not recognize that?

Let's not forget Johnny's Orr's wife...doesn't she have Alzheimer's? HAY-OH...I smell a laugh riot coming!
