Kirk went several years without recruiting a center. It just happened to coincide with the years James was on the team.
two years in a row without a true PG? One year is kinda understandable if you have a stud coming in next season but two years in a row? Does Fran just not give a crap about recruiting PGs?

He's tried recruiting them he just can't land them. Recruiting is why we're 3-4 right now in year 7
So Bohannon isn't a PG?
Bohannon is a combo guard, definitely not a true PG. He's not going to be able to defend a true PG all season and can't take anyone off the dribble. He is good at feeding the post though but that doesn't make him a true PG. He's not a guy that will ever be able to create his own shot

He spreads the floor and needs to be guarded from 22 feet in, SO refreshing, he drained 7 3's in one game Gessel had 16 in 33 games each of the past two seasons. Huge Plus!
The guy just put up 18 shots.....but he can't create his own shot? LOL man, do you even think about or understand the stuff you say before you say it?
He shot 15 3's. He's a spot up shooter it's not like he can take someone off the dribble and score at the rim. He's not a penatrate and kick type of player I wish we had
Jok was even quoted saying we don't have a PG this year at media days. Some of you guys don't understand basketball
Cool. So you win the debate so just stop already. We don't have a PG according to you no matter how good or bad Bohannon is, because you have determined that he isn't a PG......
He's not a true PG. That's all I said and it's accurate.

What is a "true PG" in the world according to 56?
Stop saying "3-4 now in year 7" like that's an indictment. While it's true - we're 3-4 in year 7, it's also not damning. 1. That's like saying nothing happened in the previous 7 seasons, like a steady incline of the program that included 3 straight NCAA tournaments 2. That's like not noticing that we graduated 80% of our scoring from the previous season in a year EVERYONE knew was going to be a rebuild and now they are already down 2 key players to injury 3. That's like not taking into account that 3 maybe 4 of those loses came to NCAA tournament bound teams.
or just troll on -
Someone who can take someone off the dribble, get to the rim, create their own offense and create offense for teammates and can defend a true PG.
So Mike G. wasn't a "true PG" according to your definition. He couldn't take anyone off the dribble, get to the rim, or create his own offense.
I personally think Mike was a true PG, he defended well, he passed well, and overall all he was a very solid PG. In no way shape or form could it be said of Mike that he could create is own shot, take people off the dribble and get to the rim.
