So how bad are the RB injuries?

Don't want to be stupid like they were with ARob.

People who make money to coach football shouldn't kill those that don't get paid money to play it.

On a side note, no way Bullock should have been carrying the rock that much and Garmon shouldn't be running between the tackles yet. Neither kid is built to stand that punishment at this point. Seriously, you don't need AIRBHG if you are ****bent on killing your backs yourself.

Bullock gets a knee to the head, as he is falling to the ground. Garmon trips on his O-lineman and dislocates his elbow. These are the fault of the coaches???

Also what kind of RB is told NOT to run between the tackles? CAAR, your post is so full of fail from top to bottom....

But if you think back at the game situations, both RB injuries happened on 2nd or 3rd and long in situations where Iowa should have been throwing the ball and not running it. So yes, the coaches are to blame. Before anyone jumps on me I'm only joking.

Everybody knows you pull a RB after 10 carries so they don't get overworked and that freshman RBs can only run pitch and sweep plays. How does KF not know this. 13 carries for Bullock and a dive for Garmon? KF is a psychopath. ridiculous.

Okay, let me help you understand. Running backs take hits. Some running backs are more suited to take a lot of hits than others. You take the most vicious and numerous hits between the tackles.

1) Bullock is not built to take that kind of repeated punishment. Hence, my suggesting that the coaches were tempting AIRBHG like 1 minute before Bullock went out. 2) Garmon is even less physically prepared to take such punishment. He is better suited now to be used on the edge and in space as a receiver or kick returner. Hence, when Bullock went out I predicted that Weisman was going to be the Hawk's ongoing back. It was just a matter of time.

Seriously, the data supports my position better than yours. The Hawk coaches run their backs into the ground and don't adjust the scheme to take best advantage of the types of guys they have at any particular time.

Garmon should be used sparingly in the same way USC used Reggie Bush and Florida used Percy Harvin. But really, he should have been red-shirted until he got stronger. They just didn't have that luxury the way they work their system. Iowa running backs take an insane pounding. You either need enough to limit the reps, or have an absolute beast who will dish out as much as he takes.

That isn't Bullock or Garmon.

Not a single part of this is even remotely correct. May God have mercy on your soul.

Wow. The things some fans come up with...

It wll depend on how long his symptoms persist. Once those go away, he will need to pass his post concussion tests. Trainers/medical team will use caution to make sure that he does not come back too soon.

This is how concussions work. Severe or not, you only get cleared to play when you pass your tests and don't have any symptoms with physical exertion. Some folks take longer than others. It is possible, though unlikely, that he could be cleared for the next game. I would hope that they hold him out for next week even if he would be cleared though.

Can't definitively say what the U of I uses for their baseline testing, but it is pretty black and white on these kind of things. IMPACT test and physical exertion are standard. If you pass, you can play.

Bullock was up and walking around on the sidelines - I think he was unconscious however.

I'd say for sure he misses next game - 50/50 for the game after.

CAAR...we usually see eye to eye on a lot of things, but I don't even know where to begin on this. Honestly I'm absolutely speechless. WOW.

The coaches can't really use all the RB in the way that they would like, becuase they keep going down. Was Canzeri's injury the coaches fault? Was Cokers broken collarbone their fault? Was McCall's injury the coaches fault? Did Hampton go down twice because the coaches put him in harms way, by using him too much also? News flash, Iowa RB's get injured whether they are featured back's or backups at the time......the data supports my position better than yours.

All great points, but it appears he's made up his mind, no matter how silly it seems to us.

Soooo.......\

In conclusion, we need to recruit 26 RB's per year, so that we land 13 of them and we limit each one to 3 carries per game.

Congrats, this is now the dumbest thing I have ever read on this board.

It's obvious to me that Coach Ferentz has found his new horse and will ride him until the end, one way or the other.
