Size but no real post up options

The game of basketball has evolved. It's less and less about guys posting up and more and more about spacing and putting 3 or even 4 shooters on the floor.

haha, no... but I would expect that most peeps on this message board would recognize that our 4 leading scorers are indeed post players who score the majority of their points in the post. But whadda ya gonna do?

The post? When does White score in "the post"?

Driving to the hoop is not the post. Scoring in the lane is not synonymous with posting up.

Aaron White has made probably less than ten post moves in 4 years.

This team very rarely gets any post touches.

I dont know Louisville and Kentucky have some players who can post up.

i didn't say post play was non existent, it's just not as important as it once was and thus why it's referred to as a guards game.

Everybody wants to point out the things that Gabe does better than Woody, well Woodys back to the basket moves are much more polished than Gabe's. I do wish we got him more touches on the block.

Yeah they're pretty different players though. I just wish Woody would rebound better. Last few games seems he's been weak in gathering the ball off the rim, and letting it bounce off his one handed attempts.

Woodbury scouted was described as more of a finesse center right? Idk about you but i think an go to move for that description would be up and unders. When done right theyre a thing of beauty, hes just sometimes too predictable for shot blockers. if he cant get the footwork down for up and unders at least perfect a hook shot by your senior season.

But im not all that upset with him. Hes had some solid games but maybe two stuck out as him being a non factor.(one of which he got blocked twice in 3mins i think) Entry passes to post are pretty poor.

Not only are they pretty poor, they are pretty infrequent. Kareem and Wilt would only score about 10 a game for us because they wouldn't see the ball. The only guy I see that consistently passes well to the post is JO.

Freethows don't count as scoring? Interesting...

Almost none of our scoring in the paint comes from posting up, which is the point the OP was making.

most of our FTs come from driving to the hoop, White specifically.

Woodbury gets a couple post touches a game and that's about it.
