Should Iowa change their uniforms?

I vote no. I think the current uniform is classic and has stayed consistent for most of the past 30 years. The current uniform with the Tiger Hawk is a "brand" that has national recognition.

I hope they never change it.

What say you?

I'm not against minor incrimental adjustments, but I don't want to see a complete redesign. The Tiger Hawk has become classic iowa.

You are dead on about the germans, swiss, french and italians.

Hilarious - never heard that one

May the TigerHawk live forever

Of course you absolutely CAN NOT change the Tigerhawk. That's what makes Iowa, Iowa. As for the uniforms, I've heard some others suggest taking off SOME of the yellow striping to make it blacker and sleeker.. And would it seem weird to make the Tigerhawk decal a little bigger on the helmets?

I don't think we should change anything. Our uniforms are almost identical to the Steelers. Iowa resembles the Steelers of college football. I think they're a pretty good franchise to resemble. Tough, hardnose, run right at you until you stop us sort of football. Not to mention a winning franchise. The Nike swoosh is already on the jersey, I believe it's on the pants as well. Also the players are wearing all kind of Nike apperal from gloves to armbans. Nike, imo, is branded quite well on the Iowa's uniforms.

No changes....NONE!

There are small changes made every year, but as long as the logo stays the same, most people don't notice. For example, the word "Iowa" right on the neckline of the jersey in 2008 wasn't there in 2007, and was changed to the tigerhawk last season.

Actually, they ARE identical to the Steelers (1970's block numbers, of course). Pittsburgh actually gave Hayden a full uniform, and our uniforms are designed to the exact specifications. The stripe on the pants is the same width, the stripes on the sleeve are the same, stripe on the helmet same width, etc. It's a total replica except for the logo. And I love it!

I'm sure the players wouldn't mind a switch to Nike Pro Combat uniforms, though. Keep the current design, just use the Combat material.

The current uniforms could not get any better, I'm sorry. They're pretty much perfect.

Banana peels!!!!! On the pants, on the shirts, on the helmets, put a bunch of banana peels together to spell "ANF", on the socks, on ths shoes, banana peel eye black, a giant banana peel in the endzones, mother f@ckin' banana peels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now seriously, don't touch the uniforms. They cannot be improved and should not be improved. Remember the banana peels?

Somebody did a concept for the new Pro Combat look that Nike is starting...This is what the guy photoshopped up for Iowa. Kinda interesting.

NEIN! NEIN! NEIN! NIEN! NEIN! Sorry if I sound like a fashion nazi but... Yellow jerseys = bad. I cannot stand yellow jerseys or helmets! Minnesota, Cal, Oregon, etc... all look stupid and happy in yellow. Black is the magic color for the Hawks home jerseys. I cannot think of a more intimidating jersey and helmet color than black. I know the Steeler's unis have been around for a long while, but they hold such a strong feeling of familiarity and tradition. I would honestly miss the uniforms if they changed. It's like I'd still be watching the Hawks, but not...kinda like the cracked out tiger hawk concept. It was ok, but why change something that is holds so much familiarity. If you can't improve it, don't change it???

I would like to see Herky have an eyeball (white with a small black pupil) and an orange beak...and maybe change him to more of a brown to look more like a real hawk. I would actually like him to look more like the HawkeyeNation logo, with teeth, too...and maybe some blood dripping out of his mouth or maybe the state flower...or both. If I were a better photo doctorer, I would create an example for you, but you will have to let your imagination do the work. Sorry.

I say make no changes to current uniforms but add a alternate home with black pants w/ old gold or whatever down the side black socks only, with a black top as it is and either a yellow tiger hawk or a flat black one kinda like mizzu's alt, uniform last year.
