Shimonek leads team to state title game.

I see he holds onto the ball too long and takes sacks like Iowa QB's have the last few years.

I'm not sure he's used to playing a defense as good as East Bernard's. Mildred has dominated most of their opponents this year. They went a month and a half without punting in the middle of the season.

Mildred finally makes a play, intercepting a pass as East Bernard approached the redzone. Shimonek out there for his fourth possession.

East Bernard breaks off a long TD run on the first play of their new possession. 21-0. This is starting to look like a blowout.

There seems to be a very large difference in talent between these two teams. Surprising for a championship game. But the stat they showed earlier - that East Bernard has won its last 5 games by an average of 41-6 tells you just how good they are. Granted, I'm basing this on only a quarter or so that I've watched, but it would be nice to see the Hawks make some in-roads at this school!

Shimonek nearly sacked on 3rd down again, but escapes and runs for a first down. Mildred is in East Bernard territory with just under 7 minutes to play in the half.

Shimonek does this thing almost every time he gets pressured where he tries to spin around to avoid the rush. He'll need to get that out of his system once he gets to Iowa.

Mildred is the victim of a pretty bad call on what should have been a turnover. Instead, East Bernard has the ball at the 2, about to go up 35-0.
