Everyone knows we dont play aggressive, it would be interesting to see what Jake might do with and offense that gets receivers very open and on the run.
Doesn't look good, better check down.

I somewhat disagree with that in Iowa's case last year. Jake was a decent QB who could be mostly counted on starting a game with scripted plays and packages to do a good job. CJ proved in a few early games to be a great reliever so I just posted 5-6 times CJ should have got more time and had a chance to rev up the offense.
and CJ clearly outplayed Jake in the bowl game with his quicker release, more accurate throws, and running and scrambling ability.
It will obviously be a huge indictment of Kirk and Greg if JR goes somewhere else and lights it up. We'll have to wait and see what happens.I like or did not like this quote from a yahoo sports article:
"Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh and Boise State coach Bryan Harsin are both "quarterback guys." Either way, Rudock will be playing in a style of offense that should be more aggressive than the one he played in at Iowa. "

I dunno.... Iowa wasn't playing 2 qbs because they were both great. They were playing 2 off and on because neither was great. If one of them would have emerged and made it a no brainer then it would have played out differently but that didn't happen. It just looked like KF was winging it out there trying to appease them both as opposed to trying to get the best of them or win games.
A good o-line plus Smith, Powell, Duzey, Hamilton, and Willies should have been good enough to do better than we did. But guys aren't utilized here very well.I really do understand this type of thinking. So if Jake lights it up because he is surrounded by better material at all positions all that means is we do not have enough talent which is something we already know. Jake staying would have done nothing for us.Guess what, Jake might also light it up at Alabama, USC, Ohio St. and Oregon among others. It still means we win 6-7 games with him.

^^ I agree with KF winging it with the QBs and a lot of things. I really disagree with him trying to appease them both during the regular season.
Jake got almost all the playing time not counting his injury time in the 2nd half of Pitt and the whole Purdue game. He got 90% of the time if not more.
CJ got blowout duty late against Minny and mop up duty against Illini and NW.
IIRC KF said CJ would play in the Wisky and Nebby games but he never saw the field IIRC. That is not appeasement.
Hardly. Two UI degrees and 23 years as a football season ticket holder.
What does it say about the state of the fan base that anyone who supports one of our true student athletes is branded as a Cyclone? I hope some people feel badly for the way they have treated Jake Ruddock. There's no denying the coaches have handled this situation poorly, but it's not all on the coaches, by any stretch.
