Rudock is Gone

So what will we Iowa fans say when Rudock goes to Michigan, beats out 4* Shane Morris, 4* Gentry, 4* Malzone? Will Harbaugh be an idiot who only plays Sr.?????

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Apparently Rudock doesn't like competition, even though he was given EVERY opportunity to secure the starting position at Iowa...for 2 years! The silver spoon has been taken away, and now he's leaving. That's how it appears to me.

For those of us clamoring all last season for CJB, we finally have our wish and there is no going back. No chance for Rudock to reemerge, no chance for KFer to change his mind.

It's not like expectations are very high this coming season anyway. I guess I really don't care.

Wow very interesting. When I first heard this way back I didn't think it would go anywhere. Very surprised.

If Jake's transferring mainly for academics I can understand that. While I wasn't all that happy with his play at times he was a part of the Hawkeye family and is a high quality person. I wish he was still here. I'd prefer C.J. starting but Jake would be a quality backup in case of injury. Whatever the case I wish him well and thank him for his contribution.

He has 1 year of eligibility left and wants to play. He was told after the bowl game by Iowa that he wasn't the starter going into next season. Why would you waste your last year of eligibility sticking around for the circus that was Iowa's qb situation last season when you can transfer with out penalty immediately? It's the best thing for Jake and I hope he goes somewhere and has a huge year.

After that Bradford for Foles trade, franchise quarterbacks are changing teams like its nobody's business.

The 'play immediately' rule should not apply when a player transfers in conference. I realize Iowa and Michigan don't play (in the regular season) this year. But, in general this sets a bad precedent.

Can't blame Jake at all for transferring. He knows how Kirk rolls once he decides to go with a guy. Jake spent his first year of eligibility watching Vandy under perform and didn't see a snap. The depth chart released at the end of the season made it clear which way Kirk was going to go next year. He represented the university with class and deserves to play in his senior if the opportunity is there. This is going to be his last chance to play football before he goes on to be a doctor. Of course he doesn't want to spend that time on the bench. I wouldn't either. Good luck to him and I hope to see Sunshine bombing it deep to Smith often next year.

He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would do steroids but I've been surprised before. See Mark McGwire, Dan's bro.

Sounds like he will end up at Michigan. He was not a fit for the Greg Davis offense. It either made him think too much, or we just didn't have the receivers to run it right. He showed some great flashes, so he could have some success at Michigan. I still question is arm strength. I can't wish him good luck because he is going to another BIG school. He's a good kid, but I hope he sucks because I don't like Michigan.
