RPI up to 71

It's a great argument for "fans" who go with what national pundits say in order to have the security of "such and such said blah blah blah so I was justified in saying this!".

The fun of "what ifs" that most message boards embrace isn't allowed here for a small group of people. Me, I love it. Gives me more reason to love Iowa basketball again instead of dreading an upcoming game.

Pretty sure those people are trolling.

Moreover they are actually a better predictor of tournament performance

Belmont played KU (7), Stanford (64), Middle Tenn (21), VCU (24), South Dakota St (76), and Central Florida (100) OOC. Yes...that OOC schedule is a million times harder than ours.

@ KU - L
@ Stanford - W
Middle Tennessee State - W

SDSU - W
@ CF - L

This is how they did in those games. Other than Stanford the wins were all at home. They also lost at home to Nebraska. That schedule is not "a million times harder" than Iowa's. The wins were at home other than Stanford.

Your logic for saying the schedule isn't harder makes no sense. Just because they got most of the wins at home doesn't' mean the schedule wasn't much more difficult than Iowa's. It was.

How is that schedule not significantly harder than our OOC schedule?

here's UNC's schedule North Carolina Men's College Basketball - Tar Heels News, Scores, Videos - College Basketball - ESPN who's just behind them.

here's KSU's schedule Kansas State Men's College Basketball - Wildcats News, Scores, Videos - College Basketball - ESPN who's just ahead of them.

now, how does that all shake out? that win against Stanford (terrible conference) puts them up there? yeah....not buying it.

You're right. It's not a million times harder, but it is 150X harder according to what matters, the RPI.

Here is the sad state of things. Iowa is considered the 'fringiest of fringies' on ESPN.com, meanwhile you have a Goopher team flopping like a wet sardine. Iowa took more care of conference business than the Goofs, finished ahead of them, and have two game win streak going as opposed to a two game losing streak for da goofs.

Lets beat NW first. A loss there ands everything else is moot.

Crazy that the losses ti nebby and purdue could keep us out.

Win 2 and i would be very upset if we dont get in. Hopefully the commitee would see the season as a whole.

Just.win.two.

Doesn't matter one iota. This isn't the BCS which has one-game amnesia/what have you done for me lately mentality. The NCAA committee uses the entire body of work throughout the season to formulate a 'resume'....and Minney's and Illinois are better than Iowa's at this point.
