Sophomore defensive end Tweeted today for the first time since he arrived here almost two years ago. He's been hampered with injuries pretty much since he got here. I've reached out to he and his mom to see if he is leaving but the return to Twitter often is a sign a guy is moving on.

Hope for the best for him. Hopefully he can make the most of his remaining eligibility, from both a football and educational standpoint.

BTW, this leaves Iowa at 86 scholarships for '18. Expect at least one more exit off the current roster because, well, if there isn't, it's a violation. ;)

Sorry to hear this young man has struggled with such significant injuries. Hope he does well in the future, in and out of football.

RM is the cat that had a knee coming out of HS, right? So, he got a legit chance and had a second knee and now is moving on. more power to the young man. hope he lands somewhere he can play right away.

Shame too. His recruiting was picking up and I thought he was gonna end up a good prospect, but the first knee injury happened and he came in behind. Then the second happened and he just got buried on the depth chart. Here's to hoping he has a great finish to his career somewhere else.

Just curious, how much help and support does someone in a situation like this get from the Iowa staff, with finding an appropriate program, when they let the staff know they are seriously contemplating leaving.

If I would have to guess I’d say probably none. Coaching is a year round full time job and they have way better stuff to do than checking out good fits for players who are leaving.

It’s probably just the standard press release form letter saying how good of a kid _______ is and how they hope he finds a good fit and how they wish him the best. Somehow I just can’t see a coach or GA spending time looking around or making phone calls to find someone a spot. I sure hope they don’t have time for that.

Yeah the DE position was/is pretty log jammed up. Seems like a good kid. Can't blame him at all.
Rob has me curious about the current scholly situation. I didn't realize we were at 87 prior to him leaving. So we never had a chance at bringing Wagner in. Wonder who else might still be leaving. I have nobody obvious on the tip of my brain it might be.

I have absolutely ZERO Inside info, but Vejvoda has been passed by every TE that comes into the program. I might put him on the watch list. This could be the end of year 4 for him
