Rob How many current players were committed to other teams?

So they DO communicate with them. Whew. Good.
For a sec there I thought Calloway might have been telling the truth.
Thanks for dispelling that idea.

Dean knows he's in the wrong here that's why he's acting the way he is. He even admitted Ferentz messed this one up but wants to remain as pro-KF as possible moving forward

Folks aren't really this upset about this policy. And while losing a player with the potential and ability of Eno hurts, it really isn't about losing just him either.

We are 5-3 with 2 bad losses, a likely 7-5 record or worse, and an offense that is averaging less than 20 points per game. That's why people are upset and looking for things to burn. It's understandable....and it's history repeating itself.

If we were 7-1 or better and looking solid on offense, people would still be bummed about Eno, but it wouldn't be this, not even close. While a very good looking runningback, that....very strangely....is not where we need a quick boost in depth and talent.

I get the frustration though. forest through the trees.

Very valid point HawkeyeWalker. I think it doesn't help that we had a bye last week so we get two weeks to dwell on it rather than getting to game day where things, may/may not, improve.

Yep, this is all a about 3 losses. Iowa has had the same policy forever. Tell recruits not to take visits, and try to keep them all onboard as much as that can with this. When push comes to shove Iowa has proven by past behavior that there is wiggle room in this "no visit" policy, as several committed Hawks have taken other visits. Add on top of it the bye week and the haters and you get a toxic act like butt hurt baby attitude around here.

I agree to an extent. The bye week brings out the worst as it provides ample time to get worked up over it in the absence of meaningful football conversation, but I think everything happening at once also puts things into perspective in regards to our inability to sustain success. Eno may have been the tip of the iceberg, but I also think the concerns regarding the no visit policy and our recruiting as a whole are legit.

I've said time and time again, and most know, that while I've been critical of the staff in the past I've also been very supportive. I've noticed these past two weeks that I've been pretty relentless on criticizing the staff (possibly because of the bye week) but at the same time while I haven't given up on them I feel that it may be time for a change. I'm just not sure that this program can sustain success year in and year out and while I'm a realist that we're not always going to be a contender in the west, I simply feel based on the conservative nature of things we're going to see more mediocre years than good/great ones.

For someone who follows recruiting as much as you I'm surprised you don't remember Miles Taylor's recruitment.

One of Georgia Tech’s 2014 football recruits is on a “secret” visit to Iowa this weekend, according to multiple reports.

Dude...when it's on the internet...AND (here's a better clue) the word "secret" is in "quotation marks"...you should give credence to the context of the word and the enclosing quotation marks. "Just sayin'"

I would assume secret means not telling his coaches just like Eno took "secret" visits to Mizzou and Arizona State even though it was reported

So...you're assuming KF/staff said, "Let's keep this visit just between us...", all the while hoping to stuff the kid in a trunk so the "secret" wouldn't get to "public" status. Makes sense. Er...not, it doesn't.

I'm assuming it was just like how Eno's "secret" visits to Arizona State and Mizzou went down. I don't know the details, just my opinion
