Rich Rodriguez fired...

Stanfords season record before Harbaugh took over = 1-11

Michigans season record before RRod to over = 9-4

Interesting stat ankle. I guess now I know how to feel about his firing - if its bad for meatchicken then I'm for it.

good job card. There are bunches of stats that can be thrown around, I just thought the 1st three year comparison was interesting. Also, in his first year at Stanford, I believe he beat a highly ranked USC team (top 5, maybe 1). Has Rod beat a ranked team at all at Michigan?

how so? all i did was compare their 1st three seasons. can't get much more apples to apples than that.

different reputation, standards, etc.

Michigan has won the most games in cfb history, not nearly as difficult to sell to recruits.

The products are a little different

I agree. I have simply put up their 1st three seasons, and made no other commentary.

RRod beat #9 Wisconsin 27-25 on 9/27/08 and #18 ND 38-34 on 9/12/09

Yeah, but wasn't there a ton of talent that graduated or went to the NFL from that 9-4 mich team?

true, but that team would have returned Mallett in addition to Brandon Graham and Morgan Trent amongst others.

I still can't believe he had a qb with Mallett's talent and insisted on the spread and defensively, the 3-3-5. arrogant a**

Not sure about that but according to Scout.com's ratings, Michigan had the #2, #9 and #10 ranked recruiting classes in '05, '06 and '07 respectively. Obviously that doesn't pertain to transfers however.

It was a year overdue, the firing that is. The hire was a terrible one to begin with. You don't bring a gimmick offense to Michigan, and ZERO defense. That sh!t may fly in the Big East, but not at Michigan.
