Rich Rodriguez fired...

We will have to agree to disagree then. Ferentz and his coaches have proven time and again, he can take players and develop them, and the caliber of athlete that Michigan gets, I think he could have done a much better job with the same players than Rich Rod did.

You realize Michigan was having open tryouts for DB's in August, right? Look how much people here complain about our defense sitting back and letting teams like N'western and Indiana throw the ball up and down the field against us, well using the same defensive strategy with much, much worse DBs is not going to work out well.

I'm also talking about just this year, so if you're saying that if Ferentz had been there for three years, then the defensive would be more than adequate, then I agree.

I asked you to address Kelly and Meyer because you said that a wide-open offense was incompatable with a good defense.

Also, how does a wide open offense expose your defense to a short field? I can buy the time of possesion thing, but any offense that fails to work will put pressure on your defense. The thing is, more times than not, Michigan's offense DID work. There defense suffered from more than TOP, they had a bad scheme and bad players.

Again, this all reflects poorly on Rodriguez the coach, but not on his offense, which worked, and was NOT responsible for the D troubles.

I AM TALKING ABOUT RICH ROD!! Get it? I didn't say great offenses are INCOMPATIBLE with good defenses.

I said, and I quote, "Why can't people understand that when you run a wide open offense you expose your defense"

Where in the statement do I say that if you have a great offense you CAN'T have a great defense????

Reading comprehension.....try it......

Like I said, we can agree to disagree......

But you are wrong.....;):p

Teams who's main focus is offense usually have all their good athletes on that side of the ball, which is why RichRod had walk ons in his secondary.

Oregon is ranked 14th in total D, they played in a conference with 1 team in the top 30 in total offense.
