It will be interesting to see how the House Settlement and White House EO impacts this. The intent of those actions is to essentially remove pay for play in favor of revenue sharing. That would mean that all major schools will have roughly the same finances to pay players, and unless you are a Caitlyn Clark who can get a Nike deal in college, you won't be able to get NIL money from collectives or sham contracts.
Now, I have no belief that these restrictions will hold. Dark money always finds its way into college sports. But, I wonder if the days of a Pryce Sandford getting a million bucks in collective money is going away. Now, the MBB for each school will have 5 million in cash from the school to divvy up to 12 guys however, they see fit. In the scenario, a Sanford type guy is not getting 7 figures.
