Remember when HN had gambling?

All of this is just BS. The NFL, NBA and other sports want to prohibit a state-by-state method of sports betting and instead want to lobby congress and create gambling laws at the federal level. That way they can regulate it better and add a fee that grants the NFL 1% of all gambling spent on NFL games.

Don't get me wrong, the NFL puts the product on the field so they probably should be entitled to a cut of the profits from gambling on their sport, but for the NFL to say gambling is bad for the game when they have a partnerships with draftkings and they know for a fact that gambling/fantasy brings big time ratings...its retarded

Yep as long as the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc get their cut, they'll be happy. This could also benefit Iowa as they could make their own deals. You can bet, pun intended, Michigan, Ohio St and the rest of the blue bloods will be looking for their cut as well.

The only real loser in this is the mafia. They stand to lose billions annually.

Its way more likely you'll place your bets on a phone app than actually going into Prairie Meadows or a casino. Hell, about 2 hours after the SC decision today, DraftKings sent me an email saying they would be accepting sports wagers in the near future. All these companies have been preparing for this ruling for years and a lot of them already have plans and infrastructure in place.

I got an email from fanduel stating something similar. Wait. Didn't fanduel and DraftKing merge? I know they were duking it out at one time. I stopped paying attention and lost track after awhile.

Privately, maybe. Publicly, they are staying the course.

I don't understand why the NFL is putting on this public front, acting as if this were the 1970's. If they truly believed this; then why put a team in Vegas? Just take a page from Adam Silver and the NBA and just straight up embrace it. Quit insulting our intelligence with this nonsense.

NFL will have a big challenge to maintain the appearance of credibility. Once that is lost....it would not likely recover
