Remember CJB to Willies in last April's final open scrimmage?

Not this crap again.
KF intentionally set the bar too high for Willies return

Made all the more bizzar by going out of his way to help a Ruddock leave.

Goes out of his way to help one guy leave and goes out of his way to make it difficult for another who wants to return.

That is not the behavior of someone who is hungry to win.

It's the behavior of someone with other priorities.

Agreed about Willies transfer. He completely gave up/lost 2yrs of playing football.

As as for the OP... Wasn't Wilson the star of spring ball a few years back? Or how about Haluska a couple years ago? My point is this... The 2 hour window us fans get to see these guys in April is tiny compared to the other 365 days a year that they have with the coaches/trainers/teammates.

Can we all promise not to get too wound up with the the name that pops out after this spring practice? Can we? Anyone? Helloooo!?!? Ah nevermind.

That's about all we got at this point.

Willies didn't quit in the middle of the project. He never got to see the field and was stuck on the bench because Kirt wanted to let Vandenberg and crew display their athleticism. Why? I'm guessing because they got better grades in the classroom or blocked better. Willies didn't let the team down, as he was not allowed to be part of the team. Ferentz let the team down by playing favorites. Ferentz let the team down by carrying Rudock's jock all the way to a Big Ten rival's campus so that he could make that rival more competitive.

Please quit in the middle of a project at work and see how you're received by your boss and/or coworkers. I guarantee it'll be different than if you were to wait until after the project was finished. Not to mention the fact that you quit but are still being paid for work you're not doing.

Two entirely different situations. Giant stretch by you. Your troll is not working.

Speaking of jocks, your nose is still firmly embedded in Willies'

He's a quitter and a loser. Maybe you should hire him as a receptionist or bicycle courier.

If he turns his life around, I'll applaud him. Until then, he's a walking irrelevancy.

I believe the Willies and JR situations are completely different. I believe that we can all presume that the stipulations for Willies to return were, indeed, stiff. Whether they were impossible to achieve or not, we'll never know. They weren't made public.

Having said that, I also believe that doing a stare and compare at each situation sheds light into kfootball's approach; which includes favoritism to "his guys" and shows why we have had so much trouble recruit high level skill players, and why we see teams under perform. There is no way Willies should not have been the starter opposite Smith, last season. kfootball didn't want to allow him to make mistakes on the field, so KMM played. JR should have been benched after the Purdon't game. JR and KMM were less talented than the #2's, but they were kfootball guys; that is, they were safe players.

Willies didn't handle his situation correctly, at all. Team sports dictate that you do NOT quit on your teammates, period. No exceptions. That is the cornerstone of team sports.

Srsly? You're talking about Iowa's all-time career receptions leader, a very reliable performer, and one who played 13 games AS A FRESHMAN, earning BTN All-Frosh team honors. Which contradicts your point, as do the numerous freshman RB's and WR's KF has played over the years. Players who exceeded Willies in both attitude and performance. Willies showed flashes - which is why he played - but made egregious mistakes also.

I'd like to have seen him play more, but "starter" is ridonkulus. An "NFL body" doesn't earn you a starting spot. I don't know many coaches in the country who'd have done what you suggest.

Well, I recall Troy Davis having a nice career at ISU bc they had no other options at the time (still dont). KMM was the beneficiary of being an above average WR in a system chalked full of world beaters like vandenburg.

KMM dropped probably more passes than any other #1 WR in the country during his time here, in case you forgot.

He also is one of the douchiest hawkeyes in a long time, going around downtown asking girls "do you know who I am? Trust me you wanna ****"

JR hated him, he also hated sunshine.

Who else is leaving the team? What other players don't get along? Who's the team favorites.

What do your sources tell you deepthroat? (I am shocked if you get that reference...look it up quick)

KMM could have been cocky on campus, who gives a rip. He was a very good, reliable Hawkeye on the field. You know who else was an enormous ***** "in the bars"...Timmy Dwight....still love the guy, wanna know why? Yeah, Stud in Black and Gold.

Deepthroat... wasn't that the name of the adult film your mom starred in? (Can we do mama jokes here?)

;-)

I'm 32, not a 19 year old. I'm familiar with what the reference is to.

There is a fine line between confident and arrogance.

I get that a fellow 18 year old student who is a jock sniffer would find out some info and then run to a message board and tell everyone......What I don't get is why a 32 year old does that? I don't get why a 32 year old is even hanging out with 18-22 year old students in the first place? then again I am in my 40's, maybe that is just what the 30 somethings do these days.

Like I said, I am shocked you get that reference. There is a reason I thought you were a 20 year old (hint, see your response).

He may have been the all time receptions leader but I can think of 10-15 better Hawk recievers just durring Ferentz time.

dude was the defenition of mediocre. Mediocre size, speed, hands, everything.

He was the defenition of right place right time. Very little talent to compete against and happened to come around in a time where there are just more possessions in a game.

It's not at all a stretch to imagine Willies surpassing him given the chance.

Making that comparison is an insult to Dwight.

Might want to slow your role about Willies. Lets see if he can even land another D1 scholarship before we crown him greatest ever.

First, yes I am a 32 year old student. I guess darn on me for serving in the military right out of high school. I shoulda thought of the implications of getting a free education, while making more than most of you, would have before I made that silly decision!

Second, I Internet right. Some of you may want to learn from me, as you're taking it waaaaaaaaaaay to serious.

You're welcome for the free advice.
