Honestly, it's bad coaching to get the WR with the highest YPC two years in a row more than 12 touches per season. You risk the possibility of showing poor sportsmanship by scoring too many points.
We waste soooo many downs every game running plays that have very little chance at success. Is it really just to set up a few plays a game to our playmakers? Does Ferentz really believe that if we go to the "playmaker well" too often they won't work anymore? Is there any way in hell someone that worked their way that high up the coaching tree can think so backwards on something so obvious?
You do everything you can to get your playmakers the ball as often as possible. You put in special plays designed specifically to get the ball into your playmakers hands. You don't make them ride pine in favor of some walkon because he is a "hard worker".
