Release: Daniels out for Year, Willies Leaving

Honestly, it's bad coaching to get the WR with the highest YPC two years in a row more than 12 touches per season. You risk the possibility of showing poor sportsmanship by scoring too many points.

We waste soooo many downs every game running plays that have very little chance at success. Is it really just to set up a few plays a game to our playmakers? Does Ferentz really believe that if we go to the "playmaker well" too often they won't work anymore? Is there any way in hell someone that worked their way that high up the coaching tree can think so backwards on something so obvious?

You do everything you can to get your playmakers the ball as often as possible. You put in special plays designed specifically to get the ball into your playmakers hands. You don't make them ride pine in favor of some walkon because he is a "hard worker".

The word playmaker does not exists in Kirks vocabulary. Who ever works hardest in practice will play.

Because he should be returning punts, wasn't that your conclusion earlier.?

Football is not your strength. Not sure what is, but keep trying.

According to your posts, it ain't yours either. Get over yourself man, you aren't going to win a fight about Vandeberg getting PT over Willies.

Good job of deflecting the meat of this debate. Which is more important? Keeping McCarron happy and at Iowa, or keeping Willies happy and at Iowa? I'm sure DW isn't fixated on returning punts and kicks. But if the coaches would've thrown him a bone he might've been happier knowing he was a starter, even if it was only on special teams. Even if you don't buy that you'd be stupid to say McCarron is our best bet FOR ANY POSITION. Just like at the QB position, we have better options. Sadly, too often we don't use them and zipperheads like you find that acceptable for reasons the rest of us can't understand. Maybe you've been a life long underachiever so you root for coaches who have that same quality?

Willies may have attempted to go against orders and try a return. McCarron will do what he's told.

its a ridiculous backwards thought process that we are dealing with here.
