Jon and Deace made a great point this morning. they will not make an announcement on Monday because they are not going to steal the thunder from the accomplishments of the women's basketball program with the selection show being on monday. Expect Tuesday at the earliest.

A friend of mine spoke with someone extremely close to Brust yesterday, and was told that Ben plans on coming to Iowa even if Todd is not there. He chose Iowa.

Yes, that is what I am saying.
And this isn't a Jon and against me type of thing, I hope people realize that. It's a matter of conflicting info.

It's not assured that Ben would come if Lick was let go by Barta. If Lick was termed and it meant Chad was termed, it wouldn't look very good in keeping Ben. However, like all coaching changes it would be a wait and see type of deal.

But is is assured that Fuller would stay if Lick isn't let go? Both have said they will be here next year regardless of who the coach is.
 
I also wouldn't be 100% sure that Ben is coming back if Lick is gone. There is no clear yes or no answer, and it is pending on what happens with the coaching situation, which I'm told probably won't pan out until at least next week.

The report isn't necessarily wrong, but just because BB said it does not mean anything is guaranteed. Just like there are no guarantees that current players won't leave if they don't like a new coach. Aaron Fuller has repeatedly said he is staying at Iowa and I believe even said something in support of Lickliter, but a lot of posters seem to think he would leave if Lickliter stays. Funny how the meaning of quotes from players, commits, and coaches have such different meanings depending on which side of the fence you stand (ie, if you are on the fire Lickliter side of the fence then Fuller only said he would stay because he knows Lickliter will be fired and firing Lickliter won't affect the commits because Brust says he will come to Iowa anyway).

It's the attempts to interpret the meaning of every jesture and quote that's got the rumor mills in over drive.

Ben did not say it. It states that they talked to someone extremely close to Ben. Not Ben.
