Interesting conversation.
As far as recruiting, ironically we've actually recruited much better along the O-line the last few cycles. Davidkof, Colby, Stephens, Miller and Endres were 4-star recruits, and Richman, Britt, Dunker and Elsbury were high 3-stars.
I've been as critical as anyone of the O-line development, but, in fairness, we were a little snake-bit here. We replaced Linderbaum with Logan Jones, who still is learning the position, and before the season even started we lost a definite starter at RG in Britt, and a very possible starter at RG or either tackle position in Davidkof (who was really rising late last season). Miller was very promising but left the program for personal reasons, then transferred to Nebby.
That said, I remain skeptical of Barnett. When you see the slow inconsistent development and repeated fundamental mistakes you can't help but question the coaching. IMO, he hasn't shown anything to instill confidence.
